If the owner has a brain, it may not last long. I found someone surfing on mine recently, and finally clamped down. I only allow my local MAC addresses. I'll open up security when WCBF folks are here.

there are three of unsecured wireless networks around here. one of them is mine. i live in a good neighborhood, so i dont mind letting anyone else that wants to borrow the connexion. i piggy-backed on my neighbors until i got dsl.

Unsecured here as well...
I told a neighbor to tell his daughter to search for a wireless network and see if she could pick on up...
But I'm on an Acre, the neighbor is on an acre, and the other neighbor is on 2.8 Acres... Not sure if the Wireless is strong enough

Stopping at MicroCenter on the way home from work today to pick myself up a wireless card. My Daughter brought her computer over, and that'* how we found the network.
I think it'* a corporate network, so they might leave it open. So long as it lasts a little while. When I make my last car payment in Novenmber, I'll go all legal and pay for my own cable/internet.

This makes me want to ask an off-topic question....
How much should a wireless card cost?
And that is something I should check into at my house. There are a bunch of cable internet connections on my block...worth checking into?

I might could have saved a few bucks if I was willing to wait for mail order, but I'm kinda impatient that way, so I bought what was on the shelf
