Lucas Oil Stabilizer?
I'm due for an oil change soon. I was wondering if any of you have used the Lucas Oil Stabilizer. is it worth it? :?: :?: :?:

From what I have gathered it is just suggested to use a good oil with a detergent and change oil frequently. Me personally I just use pennzoil and change oil and filter every 3 months, needed or not.

I've used it and have had no ill effects.
I'll use the fresh bottle in the trunk, too.
Then, I'll look around for something else next oil change.
Maybe I'll try just using my Valvoline with the K&N filter, and some Restore. I've always had good luck with that combination.
I noticed that Bob'* site is sponsored by Castrol GTX. That might influence his opinion a bit.
It would be OK to try that brand next time. Might do that.

I have used the stuff many times in old beaters, not sure if I would use it in a nice vehicle with no engine problems like bad bearings or low oil pressure.
I will say that one of the vehicles I used it in was my 1991 *-10 blazer. I swapped in a 350 small block and turbo 350 trans, lifted on 33" tires. beater / mud bogger / trail truck.
I always used lucas oil stabalizer in that because the bearings were all junk and it only held about 5 psi oil pressrure at wot. the motor knocked and smoked and ran OUT of oil on the trail many many times, but I just kept driving it. I wanted to test it to see how good it was. the engine lasted the whole summer, and I did NOT take it easy on it. the carb only had two throttle positions, wide open or off.
I will definatly use that stuff again, I think it is great stuff

The castrol sponsorship (advertising, actually) wasn't there when he did his Lucas tests, and his tests are totally unbiased.
RESTORE may have a nasty effect on your oil filter. I'd stay away from it unless you're trying to sneak another 3000 miles out of bad compression/failing rings/worn cylinder walls.
