First new place.

First new place.
So finally I recently got a place of my own living by myself. It'* a first for me. I had always been living with my parents, then after their divorce in 2004, I moved with my mom to help her out. After that I got an apartment with a friend at work for a few months. After a while I realized I couldn't stand living with the dude so I broke the lease agreement and got a 1 bedroom to myself. i haven't looked back since. It'* great! It feels great to finally have a place on my own and be 100% independent at 22. It'* just a small 1 bedroom but it'* mine and I pay all the bills. Couldn't be better right now at this point in life!

The flower with the letter in a frame under it, are for my grandpa who was in the service. The red rose was awarded to him, and my grandma wanted me to have it. The shelf on the left I built in shop in highschool.

The large (for an apartment) bathroom. hard to tell from the angle of the pictures, but it really has quite a bit of room.

I need a bigger bed.... yeah. Just isn't working being 6'1". My feet hang off. haha. The dresser I refinished. It'* very old and looked horrible when I originally found it. I stripped it, restained, and finished it in the late 90'*.

There'* a large walk-in closet behind the closet doors.

Included washer/drier located in the kitchen area.

On the patio outside of the living room french door, I have a small storage shed. Those on the 2nd or 3rd floors have a balcony.

And... I'm still a college student.. shhhhh.

Hey, congrats!
That looks like a real nice appartment.
It'* a nice feeling being in your own pad for the first time, and I've noticed how everything is laid out.
It occured to me that my first place was full of garage sale furniture I acquired along my way. Your place looks a home.
Good job.

Rent is 510, but I have a carport, so that brings total rent up to $532. That includes gas for the furnace, gas for the stove, water, garbage disposal, snow removal, etc. The only other bill I have to pay is electric. (which my bill hasn't been over $19 yet.) I love the place because it'* so QUIET. I haven't heard a peep out of my neighbors at all. I have a teacher in her 20'* living beside me, and above me. They're real nice girls. Helped them get their cars out of the snow the other day. I'm in the Kalamazoo area.
