That thing was very capable for a 2WD I'll tell ya what. Before I had it painted I took it offroad a few times and was unable to get stuck. Also, I bet that AV was fairly used. This one is not. It had no squeaks, rattles, jumps, bumps or anything. It was awesomely comfortable inside too. Took it on many road trips.
I'm guessing they are talking about the paintjob, since I had it painted that way.
Wish I hadn't sold it, but it was an expensive beast. $400 a month + $200 a month for gas. I really only save on the car payment with the Bonne now, gas is about the same.

Premium 93 octane is $2.87 a gallon. That'* $40 a tank. Tank lasts me a week, so $80 every two weeks.
Regular is $2.67 a gallon. That'* $80 a tank for the Av. Tank lasted two weeks.
Gas is the same.

i had an avalanche when it first came out back in 2006 it was such a beautiful truck, very smooth kept it for 3 years
but i hated how frickin slow it was.. it took forever to take off or even pass someone on the highway, the escalade i have now is so much faster

Av'* came out in 2002 buddy.
Escalade has a 6.0, that'* why it'* "faster". I never had a problem with gitty-up on my Av though, moved just fine.

i dunno i found that it was very slow when taking off and top end also wasn't that great either, passing people on the highway too forever.
but over all it was an amazing truck, i just wish they had the same engine as the Escalade or at least the 390hp Trail Blazer SS engine, i would have kept it for another 2 years at least

Your AV was a model year 2007, that'* when they switched to the GMT 900 platform. Sub'* and Tahoe'* were GMT 900 in 06. Also in 07 or 08 6.0 was an engine option. Not the LS series, the Vortec.
I loved my truck though, not often do you get a 6500+ pound truck that can get 22 mpg on the highway.
