Okay, so no SSEi, but here'* the plan...
So my SSEi deal fell through so this is what I'm planning on right now.
Keep the SLE as a daily driver and cruiser and buy a 100,000+ fox 5.0 'stang this summer for a weekend playtoy. I think that'll work becuase the 5.0'* are dirt cheap and the 302 is a very reliable motor.
Opinions?

thats a good engine with plenty of punch and like you said a good reputation for reliability.
not to mention an aftermarket that blows the mind.

No, not really.
89 GT Hatchback, 115k, $4000 obo
Bill: Oh well, I need that V8 rumble.
I'm just unsure of how much insurance would be on one.

thats not a bad price considering the mods i suppose, although the ad says 4000, so you might want to offer them that instead of 4500
good specs on it though from msn:
4.9l V8 with 225hp/300ft. lbs of torque and a curb weight of 3194. oughta move pretty good, i dont know what kind of gearing they have though. plus the mods on it should liven it up a bit as well.

Just make sure its a manual. Autos are slow as in high 15'*@ 89mph. The manuals usually run low 15s maybe high 14s about like an SSEi. $4500 for a 89' Ford with 115K?!? I'd look in the $2000 range for Mustangs from that year.
