Default Drove a bimmer today...

I drove my friends 1980 something BMW 635 CSI today. It was pretty fun. It has a huge top end, and the brakes are something else. I could easily put someone through the window if I stompped on it...I barely had to press the pedal down a centimeter for good stopping power.

It was an auto, RWD, and has a inline-6 that is rated a 208 HP/245ft-lbs I beleive. Boy can it make a tight turn as well...

I am impressed with the first european car I have ever driven. More then I thought I would be.

Yeah they are fun.

drove the sh*t out of a 2002ish 325i in a driver training program. They are REALLY fun.

except the very intrusive BMW traction control

I've driven a 1996 BMW 545 a couple years ago. It had slightly better handling then my car, but much slower acceleration.

You mean 528 or 540?

The 540 would have the 4.4L, 280 or so hp V8, with the 528 having the ~190hp 2.8 I6.

Or you might be talking about the older 535, with the 3.5L I6.

Whoops, it was the 96' 540. That had a V8?

I dunno, it was a long time ago. The neighbor across the street had me bring her kids to hockey in 02'. She bought her 5 series in 99'.

Interesting, some quick Googling tells me the E34 5-series ran from 1989-1995.

The E39, launched in 1996, ran technically from 1997-2002.

540i
'93-'95
V8 - 3982cc
250+ km/h
6.4 sec
282hp / 286bhp 295ft.lbs@4500 Rpm
I doubt it was a 540 you drove for it to have "much slower acceleration" over the L67
