Carfax Alternative?
I'm currently VERY close to buying a used RX-8, but I'm looking for the contact information of the previous owner as the car has been in an accident.
Now, we got a call several years ago from someone who was buying a 1997 SSEi which we had written off, somehow he got our contact info from one of these services... I was wondering if that'* even possible?
I've tried www.carproof.com but the site isn't even loading for me! Does it work for anyone else? Or are there any similar services you would recommend?
Thanks.

Well upon further investigation on the CarProof site, the only information they provide which Carfax does not is the "value" of the damage which occured, no real additional useful information, like contact info, or a detailed description of damage.
So I'm still wondering if a service exists which provides this? Is it even possible given privacy laws and such too...

I'm buying from a registered dealer too.
I'm guessing they're not open Sundays either? How long does it take them to put this together?
