Scam?
What'* this all about?
I get a thing in the mail today, it'* from a local FERD stealership. It'* a scratch off, and it says "Scratch below to see if your number matches the number printed on the other side of this mailer. If your number matches, you win one of the following"
1. $15,000 Cash
2. Sony Flat Screen TV
3. $1000 Shopping Spree
4. $100 Cash
5. $75 Walmart Gift Card
My numbers match and the only disclaimer associated with that part of the mailer is
"While supplies last; customer responsible for all shipping, handling, taxes, and processing fees."
Should I take it up there?

I got one from a dealership doing one to win a target gift car with between $10 and $100000. I scratched it and it said I won, then I ha=d to go to the dealership to see what prize my number matched. It was on;y a $10 one, but still, it wasn't bad. The bad part was the sales guy trying to get me into a car. Had to spend 15 minutes with him discussing that I wasn't looking for a car and had just got the acura the week before...

Yeah I just called and talked to a salesman...he said the only catch is that they're going to try to sell me a car lol. Yeah, I just bought mine a month ago...but he told me if my numbers match, I get a prize regardless. Why not!? The very least I could get is a $75 gift card to Wally World...I could use that
(BTW, I scanned the whole thing for any fine print, and there is nothing saying "only if you buy a car" or something...)

Well if you have the time check it out. Might be lucky

Believe me, it'* a typical scam. If it says ANYWHERE on that thing "See dealer for details", or "See XXX for more info", it'* a trap. You will most likely go there and they will tell you "Oh, that only applies if you buy a car here worth at least $XXXX.xx, or you don't get the prize".
It happened with my dad at a local Suzuki dealer. Says we won $1000 cash, please go today to redeem your prize! So we went, first thing the guy says "You MUST buy a car before you get your prize".

Not a scam, but still shady...
I "won" a $1000 online "shopping spree"...
Basically it'* a website that has gift-like stuff, and you have to pay */h, which varies by how much the item is worth. There'* a few things I might grab from there, but the 6 things I found that would be cool to have, is a total of $60 */h, but at the same time, the stuff would be worth about $200-$300. So we'll see...I don't even think there'* $1000 worth of merchandise on the website!
