Default Canadian Tire mechanics wanted, Minimum education: Grade 5

So I got to my local Canadian Tire to get the oil changed in the Jeep. I have to go there as it is the only local shop open around here on Saturdays. Anyway, the guy pulls the truck into the bay and I browse through the store.

I come back about half an hour later and the counter guy is looking at me dumbfounded and there are about 3 mechanics looking under my truck! I think, oh great, what kind of BS story are you gonna give me? Is it gonna be the old, brakes are bad, the tires are wore, ect. ect. But no, not this time, this time the joke is on him.

I go up to the counter and the guy looks around and says to me "You’re not going to believe this, but, we can't find your oil filter." I said "Are you serious?" Then he kind of snickered. "No really, we can't find it." So I follow him out to the shop and I didn't get 2 steps in and saw it. It was the only "WHITE" thing under the truck. It stood out like a Christmas tree. I said "There it is" and pointed at it, he said "Where" I walked over and right under the truck and grabbed it "Right here!" I said. He laughs to himself, all the other mechanics started to disappear by this point, looking foolish. I thought "MY GOD" and walked out.

Needless to say, I get my oil changed through the week and at a different shop just down the road now, where they can FIND the oil filters. What a joke!

I would have drove it to another shop before they had a chance to change it. (or my own driveway )

I'd want to make sure they could find the oil filler, as well as the filter. I'd also watch what oil they put in at that point. You may be running Canola oil with the track record they've started....
