Default PLEASE HELP, trying to put m62 in my protege 5!!

hello everyone,

im new here and i need some help from the pros, ive been looking for a turbo/ */c setup for my P5 for a long time now. i ran accross this (see pics) its an eaton m62 from the 92-95 3800 v6. Now everywhere else i see pics it appears that the */c is sitting ontop of the engine and has a small inlet and outlet. However in the pics i have its been bolted up, AS A REPLACEMENT, for the intake manifold on a mazda 2.0L 4cyl DOHC engine. SO what am i missing how is it possible to bolt right onto a block if the outlet is a little square??? please help!!!

We can help you find a good supercharger ( check the for sale section ) as for the installation I will let the Gearheads take care of this one. Interesting project by the way

We know nothing of your engine, so you're going to have to figure that one out yourself, or get help from a Mazda Forum. You'll need some sort of adapter plate as well.

You also need to decide which SC you want to use. 91-93 were not the same as 94/95. And alot of your selection between the two may be the diameter of your crank pulley and how much boost your (aluminum?) cylinder heads can take. My first instinct would be to tell you to get a Gen2 SC from a 91-93, then run the larger Gen3 pulley. You're using an M62 to stuff alot of air into a 4 cylinder.

The Cobalt SS is a larger 4-banger, and runs a larger pulley to prevent over-boosting. Anyone know that pulley diameter off-hand?

Sounds like it'* not a kit to me, or it would bolt up. You may have been ripped on the deal.

Have you considered all the other work you'll need to get done to get this to operate? Tuning? Bypass? Plumbing? Tremendous load on your trans? Belt specs including offsets?

Have you calculated pulley diameters yet? How credible is the seller of the kit?

Do you have pics of your parts?

We have no way of even beginning to help you until you tell us what your plan is, what you've calculated, what you've done so far, and provide us with very detailed pics of the kit, supercharger, and your engine/manifolds.

THat is the problem this WAS a kit, its not anymore.(and that **** thomas knight wont give me the details) now i want the info on how this bolts up, which */c it is etc etc. my plan is to buy one of these and stick it on run 5-7psi, all the protege can take at stock internals. the transmission can take it, the protege is a very popular turbo car. hope this clears things up a bit

You may not understand your trans loading correctly. Turbo'* don't provide much torque off the line. A belt-driven supercharger will. That'* what they're for.

You need to answer the questions I asked above. Until you do, our hands are tied and we have no ability to help you.
