Anyone ever have auctions listed under your Ebay account not

I get home today and find 4 emails of conformation to 4 auctions listed under my (wifes) account, we share it. All 4 were for X rated items with a $41 listing fee for each. Wife called Paypal and since there was nothing wrong with her Paypal account they couldn't provide any help. So she emailed ebay and they canceled all those auctions and canceled our password. We just now go the password straight but I don't understand how this happened. Ebay is still investigating it. Any ideas ??
Has this happened to anyone here??

Somebody hacked our account once, and was selling 22" rims from the UK. Just keep hounding eBay and make sure they refund the listing fees. We had a huge bill from eBay for listing fees.

I'm willing to bet either you or your wife inadvertently provided your username and password via a fraudulent email....it looks EXACTLY like a legit email from eBay, but instead, if you enter your password/login, it forwards it to the people hacking the account.

Retarded.

It took a LOOOOONG time to get our crap all resolved, but it did get taken care of. DONT stop hounding eBay until you are happy and back to where you where BEFORE this happened.

whats happened is that you followed a false link from a false email and you provided someone with all your information (identify theft) I'm 99% sure.

Check your emails recently and see if there are any spoof emails...try wikipedia for "paypal spoof" for more info on how it works.

No emails ?? If I get any emails from ebay I always go to my account to make sure it's from them. If so I have it in my inbox. That's what really puzzles me, I can't figure out how this happened.

Yet another reason why I'm starting to stay away from eBay. The security is really starting to go down the tubes.

As an extra measure, you should change passwords about every 3 months on all of your financial accounts. Alpha Numeric passwords seem to be the most secure and the longer the better. ;)

I had someone hack my ebay but Ebay actually caught it before I did and put an end to it. I then changed my password to something very difficult. It has like 15 letters/numbers in it.

Always remember that every email from eBay will also be in your My Messages box. That's how you can tell the validity.

That's where I always check to see if it's real or not. In the past I have had a few email's that weren't from ebay and I reported them. Those were more recent, I've had my account since 2002 with no problems until recently.
