Anyone else fed up with pro sports?

Well? It seems that my love of sports has completely died. I think it killed my passion back when MLB had that strike back in the early 90's. Now between that fracas involving the Pistons/Pacers and fans and the NHL lockout I hardly pay any attention sports now.

repinS 12-08-2004 05:43 PM

I'll still watch hockey, when it comes back. But yeah, strikes and lockouts really hurt.

SSE14U24ME 12-08-2004 05:45 PM

I agree. I don't watch nearly as much sports as I used to. I still watch football every now and again and I like boxing but that is about it.

BonneMeMN 12-08-2004 05:55 PM

The NFL is great this year. The passion is back, it's got hero's.

But you are right, NHL is just disgusting right now IMO. The NBA is going to change, or no one's gonna go to the games.

crickets are the sound you hear at a celtics game

Nascar and NFL(maybe college too) are the only things worth watching these days.

I never really liked them anyways. I barely ever watch tv.

Haven't watched a NASCAR race since the Daytona 500 in Febuary, 2001.

Yeah man, it was a surprising, sad day. You going to tune in to ESPN this Saturday for the movie?

Speaking of NASCAR, I've got to hand it to the governing body of that sport. They knew what they were doing when the restructured the points race. I thought it was bogus when they laid their plan out, but the end of this season ended up being quite suspenseful. I'll be watching again next year.

BonnevilleSEman 12-09-2004 01:26 AM

i'm gonna try to catch the movie...it should be good...but i don't like the point system...my cousin is a big JR fan....and he tried to explain how it works..it sounded kinda lame to me but ...the again he is a JR fan..and i here he isn't winning now..lmao

Since Earnhardt passed on...I haven't really had a favorite any more.....But I do have a few that I like. People like Matt Kenseth, Tony Stewart, JR, Jimmy Johnson, Kurt Busch, and Bobby Labonte.....Other than that I don't watch any other sports.....Alicia watch's enough football for the 2 of us so the g/f has that part covered

Twister97 12-09-2004 12:31 PM

All the sports are corrupt, but it wont stop me from watching them. Anyone been paying attention the to AHL? (Minor League Div.3 NHL Teams) That talent is probably just as good as some NHL teams, since the players that are playing were in the NHL for a little bit as well.

Sol 12-09-2004 01:17 PM

I don't really watch sports. I only watch football if my school is playing. Other than that I watch NASCAR.

I'm not a big sports fan at all.

Vijay Singh won 9 tournaments this year took over the #1 spot in the world from Tiger and won well over 10.9 million dollars

I havent watched nascar since the Daytona Crash but I will watch the movie on ESPN

Dale E. was and still is my favroite driver

macho_mike21 12-11-2004 07:32 PM

NFL and MLB are still pretty good if they can fix the 'roid rage.

NBA is garbage, college hoops is much more exciting.

Twister97 12-12-2004 12:04 AM

What I dont like is that steroids were never illegal in MLB, so of course players are going to use them, WTF?
