It takes more then the Govenor to get a bill through. It has to go through their Houses as well, so don't blame it on someone you don't like...
Why not? If someone'* breaking in, then let them have it. You shouldn't shoot to kill by any means but seriously. We're at a point in society where you can Lose money by having a burgler say slip down some stairs that aren't 100% regulation, even if they're fine for your family.
There'* something wrong with that.

I think you should have the right to shoot someone that is breaking into your house or messing with you in your car. I don't think you should be able to just shoot someone cuz they looked at you cockeyed but if they are a real threat to you then by all means you have the right to defend yourself!! There are too many cuckoo'* out there!
All you need is a permit to carry a concealed weapon and you can carry your gun with you anywhere with the exception of courts, schools, etc.

Guess what folks? That'* been the law in several States for a LONG time already. Including Oregon, California, Vermont, Texas, and a couple others I can't recall.
It'* a good law. Anyone breaking into your home isn't there for any good reason. Don't wanna get blown away? Don't break into my house. Simple.

The part I was referring to was...
Even a just halfway decent lawyer would most likely be easily able to disprove any threat to the shooter that justified killing anyone in those circumstances.
I definitely agree, originally being from Texas, that breaking into my home and threatening my family is an easy way to end up in the morgue. Personally, I don't even own a gun, but I'll do my damnedest to make sure you leave on a stretcher, if not in a body bag, if I catch you in my house....

The car comment isn't as bad as it sounds when you take into account that the owner of the car MUST have a CCW permit. They don't give those away to every Tom, Dick, and Harry.
No Oregon resident with a CCW permit has EVER been charged with a crime for a self defense shooting. EVER. So the person that would defend themselves in the car is already of a higher caliber (no pun intended), and wouldn't be the type to use that to illegal advantage.
