Any Nikon users in here?
I have a D60 w/18-55 and a 55-200mm.
http://www.kc2jga.com/d60.jpg Gotta love this thing compared to simple digital cameras on the market. My mother in-law has a Canon EOS Rebel which shoots just as good as the D60's. |
Actually I believe the Rebel weighs in with less "processor noise", but it's all about what fits your needs, feature wise. Either is to much cam for what I want to lug around places. I like a cam that is an easy part of an excursion, not a chore hanging around my neck with a gazillion attachments on the strap like a Japanese tourist. But that's me. I have been through a gauntlet of cams and absoloutely love my LumixTZ5. Great price, size, large LCD, rechargable Lithium pack, Leica Zoom. Blah Blah Blah. LOL. Ain't you glad ya asked?

By processor noise, do you mean shutter noise? Mine is extremely guilty of shutter noise. Can't really be stealthy with this thing. I like heavy camera's. Those credit card sized camera's that way the same as a penny are useless in my hands. It has to have weight and mass to feel good.

Processor "noise" is background frequencies that affect the Camera processor as it processes and store an image file, and yes the Shutter is a part of it, but not exclusive. I am in no way a Camera Guru, but have a few friends that think they are. LOL! Canon by stats seems to be on the top of the heap . And of course there is a Nikon crowd that will say some things are more improtant than others and point towards that Brand. All in all, both make good equipment. I have a sister inlaw trying to sell me a used Canon EOS when she heard I was on the look again. But I just wanted something that could still fit in a pocket, hang on my wrist, yet give me quality zoom to capture not only further away, but pan out something I don't want in a pic. She was quite disappointed when she heard I bought a TZ5 for about the same as she offered me the Canon for. Cams are like women, alot of good ones out there, but it has to fit you. hehehe.

I bought a Nikon D60 for my birthday in August. I like the camera a lot. I had an older Nikon 995 and was great for it's day.
