Antivirus
I'm looking to see what kind of antivirus people use, and what you think is the best. I usually go without, as I'm a competent computer user and haven't encountered viruses, but I do help a lot of friends and don't really know what the best option is.
Personally, I like Symantec and I usually use the corporate edition for my friends that are computer savvy and for laptops (because it's non-evasive and doesn't waste resources) and I use Norton for users I think are likely to encounter viruses. |
norton Symantec corp edition (thanks to a member) on my lappy and AVG (free) on my PC
AVG works al rewell but then again I also dont open up "questionable" sites. |
I use ZoneAlarm and AVG.

avg is the best one for free.. it scans all. detects like 98% of known viruses, its the only one i use.
|
I use McAfee since Comcast gives it to me for free....
|
Avg on my guest computer. MS OneCare on my laptop and Webroot spysweeper with antivirus on my desktop.
|
Norton is a resource hog
TrendMicro internet security FTW ;) |
AVG Free on every computer i work on... its done its job well. My room mate puts it to the test daily, hasn't failed yet.
I've been told that Panda is good to, but i haven't tried my copy yet. reluctant to leave AVG... |
I've always used McAfee....new puter for ditchboy has Norton on it....the jury is out whether or not I like / dislike it.
