Default streak of bad luck.

Well, in addition to almost being in a head-on collision yesterday, on my way to work today, I hit a huge raccoon which in turn cracked my air dam. Then, when I get to work, half hour later, one of our drivers comes in crying and says to me "I'm so so sorry." I go, "For What?" and apparently she was in an extreme hurry and didin't look behind her as she was backing up and slammed into the front of my LESS than a week old painted front end!! She hit it so hard that the car jumped a foot backward from where I parked it! Fortunately the scuff marks on the bumper aren't too bad considering the speed. They're barely noticable. Except for now, the bumper cover is broken too and can be wiggled by hand easily. It can be moved probably a good half inch! Atleast it'* not really bad visual damage though. Her car didn't come out too good though, her bumper cracked. 98' Escort. Just had to rant. This just Really sucks!
all this has happened in one year
2nd time my car'* been backed into in the front
rear ended somebody that stopped right in front of me for no reason at all
backed into on the rear.

dude, that totally sucks. I'm sorry man, just look at it this way, it could have been worse, it could have been with you driving, and you could have been injured. After your paint dries a little more, you may want to head out there with a polisher and some wax, and attempt to buff it all out..

I'd be spitting acid if I had a day like that. You did get ins. info right?
If you did look on the bright side, the damage the racoon caused can be covered with the collision damage and no one will be the wiser .

Custom, I think you have to start putting your socks on backwards or something to snap you out of this streak.

Very sorry to hear that the Riv was damaged. It'* hard to keep things looking good, isn't it?

I would've collected insurance info, but unfortunately both of us have a $500 deductable and there isn't $500 worth of damage. I know I should probably make her pay to fix it, but there is hardly any visual damage after I tried removing some of the scratches. Plus, I kind of have a thing for her.

That really sux! I would have her insurance pay for it regardless of whether you have a thing for her or not. It was an accident, that is what insurance is for.

LOL, so the truth comes out. But, yeah, I think there are sometimes when getting the insurance isn't worth the bother.

your lucky, you can get the parts you need.. me? of course not. I bump into another car, bend some of my plastic gold.. and then i'm screwed till I can find another SSE which hasn't been stripped already.. which is next to impossible. Just look at it from the perspective you can keep it and then when the car dies save it, and when you marry her you can say to your kids, that'* how we met.

Just when I thought it was all ended..
Lets start with Sunday night.
decided to replace my brake pads and rotors on the front. I get almost done and am replacing my last bolt after a smooth replacement.. The bolt to the bottom of the caliper was cross threaded apparently and now it won't go back on! I spent a good hour trying to get that bolt on. The only way to get it fixed completely is to buy a new caliper. Total cost $200.. Just as I was finished and putting on my lugnuts the wrench slipped and my elbow was slammed into the ground. I don't think I was able to even feel my hand for atleast the rest of the night. Even today it still doesn't feel right. It feels numb all the time.

Then today out of frustration, soreness, and lack of time I decide to have my mechanic do my rear brakes. After getting some time for me this morning at 7 O'clock he gets to work at it with me there.. He gets half an hour into it and had the rear brakes dissassembed only to find out that the Tire Rack had sent me the WRONG rotors! So, he was mad basically that his time was wasted to only find out that the rotors are totally wrong. They're way too big for my car. This really sucks because he put other things aside to get me in too.

Well, I call the Tire Rack because I figured this wouldn't be too big of an issure since they must have just sent me the wrong rotors. I call and the customer service representative told me that the part numbers match with what is supposed to fit my car.. I told her that I saw it myself, and that my mechanic even said that there was no way these rotors go to this car. She said that because my purchase was over a month ago ( I was waiting for my damn front rotors from Domestic Performance before I did the rear ones) she couldnt' refund my money! She said that I'll have to send them back (AT MY EXPENSE... $25 TO SHIP THEM!!) and she'll give me a credit. So basically I am out about $100 from these rotors because there is nothing else that I can buy there. Brembo (the brand I bought) is the only brand they carry and there is nothing else I want to buy there. That credit is basically never giong to be used! I've decided to go with Raybestos rotors instead from Advance Auto Parts..

OH, it gets better..

On my way to work this morning I was running late and couldn't afford to lose anytime. I was driving down my street half a mile from my house as a red chevy truck was pulling onto my street.. He took the turn WAY too wide and saw me coming so he turned really sharp real fast.. That'd be OK but he had a freaking 4x4 hanging probably a good 6 feet out of the back of his truck. Do you know what happens when a 4x4 board is hanging out the rear of a truck with the gate closed? You got it right, it goes FLYING! So here I am, driving 55 down the road with a 4x4 board in a direct path with my windsheild. Naturally I slam on my brakes and swerve to miss this flying projectile which would probably have gone straight through my windsheild. Two of my tires go off of the road from swerving and the side of the road is soggy (it was grass) from rain so it sucks my car off the road more. I steer to correct it and the car starts skidding.. out of control... right toward another neighbor'* mail box. There was no avoiding it since I had no control of the steering from the skid and slammed into their mailbox at a good 45 MPH. The mailbox was one of those plastic ones so it uprooted and went flying acrost their yard. The mailbox flew a good 50 feet. I get out of the car and the guy gets out of his truck yelling "did my board hit your car?" I told him no, since it hadn't.. He just got in his truck and left with the board still in the road! I look at the front of the car.. and it'* a freakin miracle! NO DAMAGE! How I got that lucky I don't know.. This car is holding up well though for what it'* been put through. lol.
Oh, and since my brakes were just changed yesterday with rotors that weren't broken in they are probably ruined now. The instruction manual said to absolutely avoid hard braking for atleast 300 miles. Well, I only had 40 miles on them and did a full force stop from 55. :( They seem to be ok so far though..

haha.. and this gets even better! To add injury to insult as I got back in the car, sighed, and put on my sunglassed the !$@#$!@#$ broke! The lense shattered and the frame broke in two (how, I don't know) and peices of the lense shattered into my eye. Now, royaly pissed off after what happened, and now with plastic fragments in my eye I can only but wonder... WHY ME!!!??
