Default I've been summoned for......

Jury Duty. Next week. If I do get picked for a trial they'd better hope the defendant isn't driving a ricer or...... Hang 'em high j/k

My son just finished his jury duty and wasn't picked. I think it will be interesting and hope to be picked. I kept telling him that this is his civic duty. He glad to be done with it though.

It'* something we all need to do, however being time out of our normal routines most don't care for it.

Been there done that is what I can say.

Have fun with that. Last year I did jury duty and got picked. I was on for 3 days. It was interesting though since I'm majoring in Criminal Justice. It was a learning experience. Fun stuff.

I'd love to do it. I've gotten the letters in the mail, and returned them. However, it'* never gone any further than that.

I got picked and was on for 2 days. I dreaded it at first but all in all it wasn't bad.

Not picking on anyone here....but why do so many people dread doing it? As said before, I'm looking forward to doing it sometime (hopefully).

Because it tends to pop up at the worst times. You spend hours waiting aroundfor nothing; its generally speaking, very boring.

Personally, I'd grouse about it if I were picked (I've been summoned twice), but I'd do my job as a citizen.

True. But you get paid to sit there. And if you're a salaried employee you get paid by your employer and by the courts. If nothing else I'd take a book to read while waiting.

I am excited about it. I've always wanted to do it. I've always had an interest in law and the legal system. I'll bring a book and some stuff to do while I wait. My son didn't have to wait too long, got checked in, sworn in, and was told to go home and wait for further instructions. The next day he got a call that said he was done and they'd send him the check which included mileage.

If I was working it would be irritating. I was on my winter break when I got summoned. No school, no work, no problem.
