I've been summoned for......
Jury Duty. Next week. If I do get picked for a trial they'd better hope the defendant isn't driving a ricer or...... Hang 'em high j/k
My son just finished his jury duty and wasn't picked. I think it will be interesting and hope to be picked. I kept telling him that this is his civic duty. He glad to be done with it though.

It'* something we all need to do, however being time out of our normal routines most don't care for it.
Been there done that is what I can say.

Have fun with that. Last year I did jury duty and got picked. I was on for 3 days. It was interesting though since I'm majoring in Criminal Justice. It was a learning experience. Fun stuff.

Because it tends to pop up at the worst times. You spend hours waiting aroundfor nothing; its generally speaking, very boring.
Personally, I'd grouse about it if I were picked (I've been summoned twice), but I'd do my job as a citizen.

True. But you get paid to sit there. And if you're a salaried employee you get paid by your employer and by the courts. If nothing else I'd take a book to read while waiting.

I am excited about it. I've always wanted to do it. I've always had an interest in law and the legal system. I'll bring a book and some stuff to do while I wait. My son didn't have to wait too long, got checked in, sworn in, and was told to go home and wait for further instructions. The next day he got a call that said he was done and they'd send him the check which included mileage.
