AAAAAAAAAAGHGH!! I'm getting a *little* annoyed

Every time I try to open a new window it closes the previous. Damn thing started when I went to that site with the vids of the dust devil video -happened when I went to open my first window after watching that video. Did a Spybot search and destroy, Norton scan, and still here. Cleared all cookies, and deleted history as a precaution, and it's still messing with me - I keep losing the list of messages since my last visit here because every time I open a new window it logs off BC for an instant. :x

Anyone got a clue how I can get rid of this DLB?

That is strange. I'm assuming you did a reboot?

Yup, twice.

It would be much easier if you shared with us more information...
What is your operating system?
what browser are you using?
is there any firewall/anti-virus software running in the background?
what did you use to view the video? (windows media player, quicktime, real one....ect..)

After you give this information, I might be able to find your problem.

XP, Norton running 24/7, using Real Player.
Seems to be a defunct prob now. I left for about 1/2 hr and came home (left computer on, and noone had used it since I left as the screensaver is set for 20 minutes. I just sat down again, and I can open multiple windows. :?: :?

What is the make of your PC and are you running SP2?

It's an older bugger. Compaq Presario 5000. Just replaced the video card last night due to grey lines across the screen.

From what i'm seeing, i think that there must be something wrong with your operating system. This can be caused by something that might have been installed even with or without your knowledge. Since you said that there is no trace of spyware, it could be something you did yourself. ---- Now don't be too panicked.

First, I don't think it has to do anything with your video card. That could cause your system to restart.

My guess would be a major change in the Operating System. -> For you to have more than one program open, requires more Random Access Memory (RAM). The OS could have a problem managing RAM or even system cache.

What could be a major OS change? - A windows update or Service Pack 2 which makes adjustments to your System files and Sytem Registry.

The Solution: Since you have Windows XP, you also have System Restore. System Restore brings back your OS to a state before you installed/uninstalled a driver, update, game or even a simple program. So go ahead and click to Start > All Programs > Acessories > System Restore.

Choose an appropriate time just before you had this problem. (You don't want to go back in time too far as you would lose some programs) Notice that this will just turn back the state of your system. It will not cause you to lose any files or documents. And again, this operation is 100% reversible.

I hope this helps, Good Luck :)

ADAWARE... this thing can work magic in most cases if its spyware (and now a days what isnt?). www.adaware.com i assume?

Ireli 01-01-2005 11:35 PM

Yes, I know, but what if there is no spyware?

You know what I mean?
