PDF help...
i've got a service manual for my year, but i want to share it with everyone.
i figured the best way would be to make a pdf out of it.
but i cant for the life of me figure out how....
i have Adobe Acrobat 5, but it'* got about the steepest learning curve i've ever seen
if somebody could tell me where the "New" button is that would help

I have a copy of Acrobat but never really used it much. I know that if you put everything into MSWord you can use the Adobe plugin that it installs to print the file to a pdf. Hope that helps some...

Adobe Acrobat 5 is a free reader. If you want to create a PDF using Adobe you need ADobe PDF. Or Adobe Acrobat Professional. Which runs around 500 bucks.
Try searching on 'Creating PDF documents" in google or Jeeves. Im sure you'l find other stuff out that that may even be freeware to create PDFs. It doesnt have to be Adobe.

As as been said before, the reader isn't gonna cut it. You need the whoel program.
When you install it, it creates a new printer called acrobat pdf writer. You take the scanned image that you want to turn into a PDF page, tell it to print to the PDF writer printer, and it turns it into a PDF...that way, any program that creates something that can br printed can be turned into PDF.
Hope it helps...

Now, if you actually have a full version of Acrobat, it is a little confusing in that it doesn't have a "new" button really. Just scan all the pages you want (don't go too high a resolution, or the file will be huge) and on the "File" menu, select "import", then "image"--browse to the scans, and import them---I'm not sure if it is possible to do "bulk" importing of images, or if you have to do them 1 by 1. It automatically converts the to the adobe file type, and you can then save the file as a brand new PDF
Just trying to clear the air a little.
Jim (who has full versions of both acrobat 4 & 5)
