We're still arguing over this?
Its bad notation. Simple as that. Like a tourist asking a question in broken English. If you don't phrase the question to be understood by everyone, how can you expect a reasonable answer?

Wrong, 288. If it was one answer, then why do different calcs give different answers. Both answers are right depending on how you learned it, it'* the question that is bad.

its perfectly fine, someone with short math skills might have a problem solving the equation.
before i even open the thread on other forums my answer was two, and almost everyone i went to collage with and to highschool there answer was also 2.
Many members on this forum and other forums emailed uni teachers and professors, and 99.99% of them answered with 2

there are multiple answers for every question, doesnt mean they are both right

So most calcs are wrong? No. More people seem to think the answer is 2, but most cals display the answer as 288. The question is the problem, not the answer. Because one teacher said the answer is 2, don't make it right, I have teachers say the answer is 288. Does that make me right? Math can not have more then one answer. 2+2 is always 4. It'* how you answer that formula. 24*12=288, 48/24=2 So it comes down to how the work is split up.

48/2 * the sum of (9+3) = 288
48 / the sum of 2*(9+3) =2

Work from left to right, that'* that way -->

48 / 2 * 12 = 288

I got straight A in math.
