Default Guess what I found yesterday?

Well I was about 25 minutes out of town at my girlfriends cousins house helping them do some home renovations, we had to go to the dump out here, so we go there. Once we are there I was told there is a "share shed" it was like a garage you could say. So I walk in and find a Dyna tube preamp, a Dynakit stereo70 tube poweramp and a Sony reel to reel. I take all this stuff home, cleaned it all up, hooked some old speakers up, it all works!. So I proceeded to hook my good speakers up, all I can say is WOW this thing rocks!!!! I just had to share my junk find (i'm a stereo nut, can you tell? lol) I plan to have both of these brought into the stereo shop when I have some extra cash.

here are some pics I found on the net of the preamp and poweramp.

I love old analog stereos. My dad bought a 3-year old used Sansui A-80 in 1982, and has sat from 1984-2006. I use it now:

Dude, you gotta love old sansui equipment, is that a yamaha cd player and nikko tuner? I used to have that same cd player, a rackmount nikko eq, tuner and preamp. My brother currently owns a HUGE sansui amp also. It was at the pawnshop for $100, he needed an amp soI told him to get that one, now he won't get rid of it. I used to own a Sansui SE-88 Compu-Equalizer, Sweetest piece I ever owned, 15 bands per side, all push buttons for adjustments, L+R, L/R adjustability, and all the buttons, you see in this picture, pop out, it is a remote control. I really miss that EQ. Here'* a pic.

I also used to own a Technics SE-A5 power amp. it was sweet. here'* a pic

I used to run that technics power amp off a NAD preamp, something like this, although mine was nicer than the one in the picture, mine had more inputs and stuff.

another item I used to own was a Nakamichi AV-500 surround receiver sounded great,

Also had a Yamaha M-80 power amp, 2 ohm stable, the power meters on it went from 0-900w each channel.

Nothing beat my Peavey CS-500 commercial series power amp. it had a 120MM fan that hummed, it also had this DDT stuff which increased the headroom by like 10 or 15 decibals or something, I would see those lights start to kick in and it would just get louder, my friend had a HUGE set of Peavey bin'* with 15 inch black widow'* and horn tweeters.

I go through stereo equipment like I do beers just get bored and get new things and sell the old over time.

That tuner/pre-amp looks pretty sweet Respin...

Our OLD Nikko (think 40ish yr old) just lost a channel in the garage, kinda unhappy about that one...

I still run a denon analog reciever for my stereo, sony 400 disc changer into it, out some heavy cables to my B&W speakers... I would love to get a higher end reciever with a good DAC in it, as i'm sure the Megachanger'* isn't the best. However the megachanger seems to be having some issues as well, i could hear rubbing, and the CD skipped the other day.
