physics 101
I posted this over at my forum so I figured I would post it here too,
Well here is lesson #1,
2 objects cannot occupy the same space, if you try this is what happens.
I got side swiped today, by a truck. As you will see I got the worst of it and the truck had next to nothing.
As you will see in the next pic, his tire started hitting my car just at the end of my car door, good thing for that side molding, if not it would have been worse
Now for the truck damage
yep that'* it
of course the back tire had a go at the car too, see the scuff marks
My mirror bent in a way I didn't think possible but it is still fully functional, it did leave a nice mark along the whole side of the truck, but when I resized the pics you can barely see it anymore so no point posting those pics.

His fault Mikey? You know, hate to admit it, but for the amount of total driving you do in a year, I'm surprised this is the first incident...good thing it was minor. Insurance?
btw thanks for the physics lesson, I needed that

He was charged for improper lane change or something like that. Looks like he wants to pay for it out of pocket too, cause it was the son driving and the father was a passenger, but the truck is under the step mothers name and he ( the son who was driving) is not insured under it, or something like that. They were coming from B.C. ( three day drive) and heading to Toronto.
I am also surprised that this is the first accident with all the driving I do and all "great drivers" out there.

I drive my dad'* 01' Silverado quite often too and I can see how he might not have seen you. Those trucks have some pretty horrific blind spots on them unfortunately. :( Can't see a thing sometimes to the sides. :(

Blindspots? I'm not sure I agree with that one. I've got a 00 silverado, but my windows are not tinted. Primarliy because on something like that if you use it you need to have good visibility.
Glad you got out with only minor stuff. Bet you got the worst of it when his Dad what screaming and he jerked the wheel... looks like you got rubberized.

I should have paid attention in physics. Or maybe the other driver should have paid attention to the red light....
Those are the pics of my beloved 1992 Bonneville SE. Man I loved that car.

[stupid question] So is that like a permanant damage thing? The only reason I ask is because I had a slight physics issue when I had the black '94 when I attempted to occupy the same area as a PVC (or sometype of plasticy) fence post. I had a white streak from the rear of the rear door to mid drivers front door. For the most part it rubbed off (thank goodness) except for where I must have caught the post initially. [/stupid question]
Anyways, that'* a huge bummer...I hope all work out for you though.
