Default Medium Error

Whenever I try to burn a CD in my CDRW drive, it goes all the way to where it is about to start to burn, then quits, giving me a "medium error" error message. I bought new CDs awhile ago, but after about a week it started to give me the same message. Anyone know whats going on with this thing?

Two things I do to fix this. Restart the computer (memory leak or laser overheat?) or clean the drive.

It usually happens to me in Clone CD when I haven't restarted for a while.

Typically, there are CD cleaning CD'* out there that have a little fine brush on them. I've used them, and I use one in my PS2. I trust it, but I don't know how it'll work for you.

Just curious, what brand/kind of CD is it? Asstacular bargain CDs can do that sometimes... I ust FujiFilm CD-R'* that are Made in Japan, apparently they're rebadged copies of some of the best stuff out there, which name escapes me at the moment.

What software are you using to burn cds? I used to use roxio, which made coasters out of the cds 4 out of 5 burns. I switched to NTI and only get coasters 2 out of 25 cds

I primarily use Clone CD for all my data burning. I have a program call Daemon Tools that will load other CD Images as a virtual drive that I can copy with CloneCD.

I have Nero for backing up stuff, tho. And MusicMatch Jukebox PLUS for music.
