1-of-a-kind Foose signed Monte Carlo...

#24 1/24 Hot Hues Monte Carlo

This diecast features tons of details, literally everything work. The trunk opens to reveal fuel lines etc, while under the hood lurks a detailed engine with "chevrolet" valve covers, wirings, and braised hoses. The wheels turn, the undercarriage features just as much detail as the rest of the car, with coil springs and exhaust. Even the window gate is made of nylon mesh!!

This car itself was a limited Edition, with only a few thousand made, and is serialized. Although several hundred released were "autograph" cars, hand signed by Gordon, this car was signed by Chip Foose and is one-of-a-kind. Shortly after the "special paint scheme" line of cars were released, all bearing Foose's cool new paint scheme, Foose autographed this one at a launch-party, and then donated (along with other memorabilia) for auction. It's the only one like it signed by Chip.

I acquired this at a charity auction held shortly after. My winning bid was $350+. As a Bowtie/Foose fan, it has been one of the prized gems of my collection, which unfortunately I now need to thin out a bit.

asking $145

Signed Gordon cars are a relatively common on ebay, and retail for anywhere from $200-300+, so this seems like a deal for a 1-of-a-kind piece

Nice Score Man!. Not a big diecast fan but that seems a real Win.

jonny m 08-18-2010 12:11 PM

thanks! yeah, it was a really nice score. Unfortunately my local car club is hard-up for money, so I'm selling off a few things to help fund our annual BBQ (which always has been free for members' families). This being one of them. Im a senior member, so it seems like the right thing to do for the guys.

That is a nice score. I'm not a big fan either, but I think Nick (MOUSE) is.

SpinEm_90 08-18-2010 06:09 PM

Mann thats pretty sweet! If only I had more moola lol

MouSe 08-18-2010 07:16 PM

I don't see a box. Is than the Elite version or what?

jonny m 08-18-2010 08:14 PM

sorry, it does come in the original box. It is the ARC version. I believe it has a breakdown of the production numbers on the side....but as I mentioned, this is 1 of a kind. Thanks :)

bump $125 firm

MouSe 08-21-2010 04:26 PM

$125 is a lot for that. You can buy the ARC version on ebay for about $50 and then send it to Foose for him to sign. If that was an Elite then that price would be spot on.

That's a novel idea, but this might throw a wrench in that plan

From Foose Design/Redphin Productions LLC

"please note: while we appreciate letters from fans, due to the volume of mail Foose Design receives, we are unable to individually respond to fan-mail. For general autograph requests, please mark "autograph request" on a self addressed envelope. It may take up to 4 months to receive your autographed photocard. Items without return-postage will not be returned under any circumstance. Please do not send parts/plaques/apparel with signature requests, as we cannot guarantee they will be returned. For those wanting autographed Foose Design products, check out the Merchandise section found on our website"
besides, after you bought the car off ebay for said $50, got it shipped to your home, then paid to have it shipped to California with return shipping paid, do you think all that is going to be free?? I did that with a V/C I wanted signed by Vic edelbrock, and cost me well over $100 in shipping (and he didn't sign it, I got a signed photo instead). I'll agree that I may have over paid on this item when I bought it, but it was going to a charity, so I wasn't cheap. The money from this sale will go to support our Atlantic Cdn Bowtie Club.....so I figured fellow Chev guys would be more than willing to lend a helping hand.

my friend (a Mopar man) told me if this were a Dodge Forum, and it were mopar-related hear, they'd be tripping over each other to help fellow Mopar boys. I told him he was wrong...but perhaps he was right??

MouSe 08-21-2010 05:25 PM

I'm not saying your wrong or right. I'm just not that big of a Gordon or Foose fan. To me the Foose paint scheme signed by the driver is worth more since I'm buying it because of the driver, not the person who painted it.

Honestly, if I was allowed to buy anymore diecast, I'd buy it. The g/f told me to stop though because she's out of room for my collection LOL.

Cavi Chris 08-21-2010 06:31 PM

I think this is a steal!! Love foose and always liked Gordon. Earnhardt was my favorite driver, but I have mad respect for Gordon

We do have a "Sister Forum"....TurboDodge.com. Tell 'em Venom sent ya. J/K. I am the Senior Admins there as well.

jonny m 08-22-2010 12:12 PM

I used to be an active member member back when I briefly had a Daytona pacif turbo.....Im also a regional leader for a dsm forum, and an admin on a couple auto-related forums. You'd be hard pressed to find a one that Im not a part of lol

was offered $95 cash for it + shipping (guy will have the money in 2 weeks), so unless someone wants to match that now, consider it sold. . thanks again :)

jonny m 08-27-2010 11:12 PM

Mark this as sold....it's gone. Would have hoped a GM guy would scoop it up, but a DSMer grabbed it instead :P

thanks
