Dealership damaged my car - need advice by tomorrow
This is an update to my incident with the dealership I had my Chrysler at.
For those that don't know the story, I had my car at a dealership who was going to sell it for me. I decided to pick it up and found some things missing, a ton of miles added, and a ventshade broken. He basically blew me off for two days as I awaited him to call me back with a solution to the problems.
I mentioned to the owner that a ventshade was broken, and that I'd have to get a WHOLE NEW SET since you cannot just buy one. He said if I buy a new one he would reimburse me.
My question is this: Shouldn't he reimburse me FIRST!? I don't even have the money to buy a new set anyways, but he damaged it and he knows he'* liable. I would think HE needs to get me the money now or the set of ventshades. I am not buying a new set if I don't know he'* going to reimburse me. I can't really trust the guy as he was ignoring me for 2 days.
Thoughts??

He said he can easily get it from his "supplier," so I don't see why he just doesn't order them now.
He has not called me back since last Thursday. He was supposed to ask his detailer where my floor mats are. It'* a pretty simple phone call. He said knows him personally too. Yet 4 days later, no phone call. I am certain he sold them with another car.
I ask about the ventshade because I am calling him tomorrow and when I ask him to order them for me, and he tells me to get them first (with my own money), I want to have a good solid comeback explaining why HE should get them now.
I'll look up the part number so I have that ready.

of course he should be the one to purchase your new visors and mats.
unfortunately. honesty and dealerships don't mix. I know you say you don't have the cash right now. but I think the only way for you to get reimbersed would be for you to buy them and then hand in a copy of the receipts.
didn't you mention he was a consignment dealer. their lower than regular dealerships.
have him sign a receipt of getting said copies. if he says he wants the originals
tell him he willget them when you get reimbused.
if not... return them for the money and remove the other vent visors.
second and more important, didnt he say he could sell your car for what you wer'e asking for?
He should be responsible for the difference. due to him putting on the extra miles.

Considering he put the miles on himself by using it as a personal car, he should! He sells SOME consignment cars, but most are not.
Gumball, I was thinking the same thing about me having to buy them first and giving him the receipt. I know that'* what he expects me to do. But I think he should buy me a set up front. I just sent him an e-mail asking him to.
I honestly would like to remove the visors and have the cash instead, but I figure if he'* worried I'll just take cash from him, he should just buy the set now to settle the problem.
