Default hypothetical question

ok lets say i get my Grand Prix GT someday....and i put a CAI and full exahause system on it(headers,cat,cat-back).....from my understanding all that stuff would add about 40-50 horses....what would i have to do the transmission for it to be able to handle that extra power? or would i have to do anything at all.

Take a look at dblk2'* GTP, they have more mods then you can shake a stick at and they just replaced the tranny with an Intense tranny (I believe) either that or ZZP...regardless...

Ty stated once that this 4T60-HD trannys can handle 600 HP

I foam at the mouth to see what my 4T80-E can handle

hmmmm a new trannt is kinda 'spensive perhaps i should lower my dreams to just a CAI and possibly a muffler or somethin. just out of curiousity what can the stock tranny on the GP handle? i know its probly not much more than the car makes to start with...i guess ill have to stick to external mods, blingage and whatnot

If yer gonna get a GP, go GTP or stick with a Bonneville

If a L36'* powered GP is in your sights, then an intake, and muffler will do, but I would go GTP so you can do pulley mods etc

yeah id thought about that, but finances are an extreme concern for me...so the im liking the GT better than the GTP cause i can use my cheap gas and then i figure the insurance is probly cheaper, and then id probly get a 4 door as opposed to a 2 door, once again because of insurance....basically i love the L36 and want to get another car with that engine, and IMO the Grand Prix is the finest looking of all cars with it, the Impala is a close second i guess. but i like them big cars
