Yup but the funny part is if you compare it to today, 3D printers are starting at around $2k. I'm sure in 20+ years I'll be laughing about that when I buy one for $50

i'm pretty sure my dad has a 486DX2 laying around....

IIRC, it has a "turbo' button that makes it go from 33 to 50MHz though.

How many people actually used those "turbo" buttons? Yea, once. And they left it on turbo since they bought it.

actually.... you could game the system a bit by leaving it in 33MHz mode for extra reaction time to certain games.

or at least, that'* all i used it for.

And for some of you kiddies that grew up with broadband internet, I got to experience dial-up BBS. Spitfire, Wildcat etc. I use to have a dedicated phone line for my computer just so I could run my own BBS. Oh the fun times of the early 90'*.

My first dial-up ISP was Compuserve. Which I think came out before AOL did.

Here is a nice video clip of "dialing into" the internet...

Yep, I remember that wonderful connection noise! I also have a P4 3.4GHZ with HT powering a server in my basement. Paid $350 for it when it was new.
