Hello everyone.

Just purchased a 1993 Bonneville SSE w/ Supercharger. Believe it has every bell and whistle available for that year.. HUD, Compass, Leather, dual power seats, sliding sun-roof. Even found a air hose, and a built in air pump in the trunk.. was that stock? Has 103000 miles on it now, not too bad for the year. Paid only 2k for it, Dealership took it in on trade yesterday, and didn't even have time to detail it.

What are things I need to watch out for?

What are things I can do to squeak more performance out of it?

Supercharger oil. Make sure it'* full right now. If it looks bad, then change it. This is especially important in the 92-93 models (the leakers)

A couple of other things you may need to keep an eye on are the alternator (known for bearing problems) and the tranny (few, but far between, but they've been known to have issues). These may not apply to your year, but...

One thing I noticed, is that I get the Low Coolant message a few times. I check the coolant, and it seems to be over full in the bottle. Is there a problem with the sending unit for that gauge you think? Or, one thing I didn't check, was to wait for it to cool, and look in the Radiator.. maybe there'* a clog in the line between the tank and radiator, and the radiator is actually low? Not sure where that sending unit is located.

Was reading through the none problems, and saw recomendations to lower the thermostat. I'll try to get that done soon.

Sending unit is on the radiator itself. Yes, its probably dirty.

Wife took the car to work today, so wasn't able to get pics... Tomorrow looks promising though!

To be fair, the car does belong to my wife. Sold our Suburban, and used the cash out of it to buy the car for her to drive to her new job.. Suburban was just sucking down the gas. Big Block 454 tends to do that.

BUT... I went out car shopping without her, and bought that car.. Was good timing for me, they had just got the car on trade the night before, hadn't had time to wash or detail it.. Salesman didn't even think it was their car to sale. Made him go find out, and he came back with a price of $4500.. I said bummer... I've got 2k in cash, and I'd buy it in a heart beat if it drives and runs nice. He went to go talk to his salesmanager, and the sales manager was actually holding the car for his Aunt to buy. He called his Aunt, and she declined. Tried to talk me into going higher on amount, etc.. Stuck to my guns, and got the car for 2k out the door.
