New member 93 SSEI
Hi All,
New to the forum. I have a 93 SSEI with over 255k miles. The engine burns no oil between changes. have used syn oil since I purchased it at 43k miles. It is my backup daily driver now. The car has never left me stranded. I have had several probles a mile from home or work that would have been a big problem further away. for example the plastic fitting at the base of the intake manifold failed turing into the parking lot at work. This week a coil pack died 1/2 mile from work. The car seems to know when I am close to a safe haven.
I am hopping to get to 1/2M miles before I have to say goodbye.
Regards
Rick

That plasic coolant fitting is a problem waiting to happen if its still on anyones Series 1 car, mine failed a few weeks after i purchased my second 93 in Jan 05, it was only -20 outside thankfully. The replacement should be steel.

Hi Rick, and welcome to the club!
As a fellow 93 SSEi owner, could you please supply a pic / greater description of this plastic fitting? You might be able to save me from future catastrophy!
Thanks,
Adam

It'* the fitting directly under the nosedrive of the supercharger in the LIM. Connected to the water pump bypass hose.
All Series 1 owners should replace this with the metal replacement available at any parts store or the dealer.
1993 SSEi? I'm kinda partial to your taste in cars myself.
