Default Newbe here, an old guy by age but a newbe

I have owned a couple of Bonnevilles in this catagory, 92-99, the latest is a 97 bought new in 97. It is a 40th anniversary edition with the emblems, I don't know if that means anything or just a sales pitch by Pontiac. Great car, color is white and still in mint shape, it is a SE with the SLE option. It has 104,000 miles on it and it still runs great. Fuel mileage is always around 22-25 depending on speed driven. Freeways out here in Tucson AZ is at 75mph but common at 80+mph. The only issues I have had with it has been a bad alternator at 5,000 miles and the usual items like braks and tires. I change the oil at 5000-6000 miles as I have done in all my previous cars including my first car I got, 1962 Catalina in the 60'*. I am into Muscle cars and I have been heavily into Mopars since 1969 when I bought my first new car. I just sold a 65 Belvedere with a 511ci motor and I currently have a 1971 GTX 4speed Survivor until last weekend when I changed a few things.
My second love has always been Pontiac cars and as I said before I have had my share of them. I have been debating on selling the 97 SLE, but after finding this forum I think I may just keep it, I love the car but I thought it wouldn't last much longer, maybe it will.

Anyways, nice meeting you and thanks for the quick answers I have received on my first post.

Welcome to the club. Post some pics when you get a chance. Seeing a 40th is always nice.

They aren't rare, but not common.

Welcome. You have a somewhat rare car. I believe there are production #'* on the 40Th in Tech Info at the top of the page.
What would really make your car rare would be for it to be a 40th SLE SC (Supercharged) seeing as the SLE could have the L67 engine 1995-1997.

BTW, my dad is an old Mopar freak too -but at the moment he only has one original Hemi car -a 1953 Chrysler New Yorker Deluxe Newport 2 dr hdtp .....yeah, that'* a line.

There'* a couple pics of the 1953 here:

Welcome. The Arizona contingent is starting to take over Anyway, I have the Chilton'* and the Haynes manuals for our cars. I am hoping to get the 97 FSM in the future and I should have an Actron scantool by the weekend. Seriously, if you want a hand with something on your car, and if I am available, I can make the drive down. BTW, I just turned 40. PM me if you need something.
