new member long time reader!
Hi there! I've been watching this site for about 3 years now. Finally registered and jumping in. I am the very proud owner of a 1997 40th anniversary addition Bonne SSEI. I found her in Akron OH and brought home. Question, I know there were 637 made but how many were the SSEI?

4,935 40th SEs
1,521 40th SSEs
welcome to the forums
40th Anniversary Edition: In 1997 Pontiac made six models: the SE, the 40th Anniversary SE, the SSE, the 40th Anniversary SSE, the SSEi, and the 40th Anniversary SSEi. The 40th Anniversary SSEi is the rarest model with a total production of 637 units. The 40th anniversary models all had a VIN with Y40—sorry guys, no fakes allowed.

RPO stands for Regular Production Code
it is definitions for production options and can be found on our car on the spare tire cover. A white label with #'* on it.

The package consisted of the Y40 code, custom 40th floor mats, and 40th badges on the C pillars. Other than those items, it should be typically equipped for an SSEi.
Note that there is no extra value on trade-in or sale for it. 'Uncommon' would probably be a better word for it than 'rare'.

Yes I have all the special floormats but I keep them covered. I wouldn't trade her for nothin, but my problem is getting her registered and back on the road after my son stole her while I was away and totaled her! I'm trying to prove she is worth keeping not destroy.(I bought her back and spent a fortune on restoration) She is back to her original condition.

considering 637 was the final # you have to assume a few are totalled or in a junk yard by now.
so they are getting fewer and fewer.
So what color is she.
most 97 40th'* are the dark Cherry /mulberry color.
