Old 1997 40Th Anniversery SSEI owner New to site

Just found this site even though I have owned my car for 5 year. I plan to sell it soon But plan on getting a new SSEI to replace it.
I am involved with Fiero's and presently Club Pres. Of The Cleveland Fiero and have around 80 members locally. I am a Die hard Pontiac fan as are many of my Friends and have driven or ridden in just about :D every Great Pontiac made over the years.
The SSEI is the wifes every day car, my Fiero is for shows only with only 40,000 miles and I am the original owner. My daily ride is a GMC Sonoma Ext cab with a ZQ8 suspension powered by the 185 HP 4.3. Believe it or not the GMC is great for Autocross.
This looks to be a great site and just in 2 day I have learned much on the car I have and others. My shock was that only 637 40th SSEI were made. I haver seen some around but not many.

Welcome to the club Hyper, I was in cleveland last summer visiting my dad and spending tons of dough at tower city, what year of the ssei you looking for,im just curious as to why your getting rid of her ,97 is the best year for the ssei and it's a 40th anniversary edition :D .

BonneMeMN 02-21-2004 01:48 AM

Sols looking for nearly that car. I'd say keep onto it. Your Fiero is nice ;), and your bonnie will be worth A LOT in 10-20 years.

If not, sell it to SOL plz.

WELCOME! I used own a few Fieros myself. Had an 84, 86 SE V6, and an 88 GT 5-speed that I used for the auto-x. Sounds like you have some nice rides.

HyperV6 02-21-2004 08:19 AM

Thank you for the welcome! I think I will be able to learn a lot and hope I might be able to contribute some.

I am in no hurry to sell the car. It has 80,000. We just trade or upgrade every 5-6 years on cars We were looking to upgrade to a 2001-2003 Black or silver SSEI. This has to be a everyday car that she has to drive to work year round. The only things wrong with the one I have is the gas gauge not working all the time and the lower lumbar on the drivers seat leaks down., otherwise it has been a great car.

I have not gone and looked at more than 2 newer SSEI's so far. I will have to even set a price on the one I have yet. Anyone got an ballpark Idea what it might be worth? New brakes and new Eagle GT HR's are on it. The interior is in great as well as the body. Has everything but the electric suspension. Has been well maintained.

I will sell it between now and summer, just depends on when I find another car that we want. If I had someplace to keep it I would put it back and save it. I do like this car but you can keep everything.

I will post pictures of the Bonneiville and the Fiero when the wife get home over the weekend. She is out of town now and I don't have any digital pictures of the car just regular photos.

the Fiero is the show car of the family so it gets the 3rd bay in the garage. It is a 2M6 SE 1985, with t tops, Herb Adams suspension, Peguses Ground FX, DGP Indy Scoope. Leather Interior, 1989 Prototype nose Badge one of only 13 I know of and I have 9 of them and 16" wheels with Center caps I made from 1979 Bonneville hub caps. I have won local and national shows with it and have had a lot of fun with the car. I even wax the floor pan. I will post these when I get the other photos later.

I will post try to post pictures later of both.

Thanks again for the great welcome I plan to be around here for a good while.

No pressure to sell, I'm just anxious to get a car like that.

I'll keep my eye on you...

HyperV6 02-21-2004 06:27 PM

Sol, If your really are interested I can let you know when I am ready to make a move. It could be 2 weeks to 6 months. It all depends when I find the right car at the right price in the right color. I will have pictures posted later.

Here are a couple pictures of my Fiero. I bought it new and many of the mods were done in the later 1980's with part not available anymore. It is the best go car I ever had! I would like to put a 3800 supercharged engine in it in the future. With only an overdrive pulley it would run 12's in the 1/4 mile based on others who have made the change. My 2nd choice is the up coming Ecotec with the supercharger, I have been hearing 220-240 HP with it and very little weight.

Drifter420 02-25-2004 04:46 PM

Adding my really late Forrest Gump welcome  nice ride.. :headbang: Hey if you're going to sell the car.. how much would you sell for the 40th anniversary emblems off the side of your car?? Been on the hunt for that for years now.. :thumbup2:

BonneMeMN 02-25-2004 04:59 PM

Don't take Sol's emblems! You can't take those off a good car.

Drifter420 02-25-2004 08:44 PM

OF COURSE IT'S A GOOD CAR.. why do I want an emblem off a bad car ?!?!?!?

Good thing it's not white...

Hi there and Welcome!

HyperV6 02-29-2004 08:21 PM

Thank you for the welcomes! But I found this site too late. I am sorry but I just bought a Comp G Grand Prix. I will have to sell my Bonneville and it is posted on the 4 sale items. I would keep it if I could but can't (space and money). I will still check in here, this site as it is one of the best and some of the info will trans over to the engine in my GP.
They made me a deal on the GP that I could not pass up. I got it withe every option available for the price of a used GTP. I was not in a big hurry on a new car and was looking at Bonnevilles so I was not expecting to do anything so soon. You all seem very kind and helpful here and should be proud of the site you have. Thanks!

Sol 02-29-2004 08:21 PM

I hope that sweet machine can get sold. Good luck.

HyperV6 02-29-2004 10:40 PM

I don't expect it will be a problem, check out the new pictures I took in a little better light than the ones I sent you. I also did the sping cleaning of the engine a little earlier than I normaly do. It cleaned up real well. Sorry the timing is bad for you.

Drifter420 02-29-2004 10:46 PM

Well.. if you're sellin it... can you take the emblems off your car?? or ask the next owner if they want it and or sell it?? I've been lookin everywhere for those Bonneville 'T' symbols..

hope your new car will do you as well as the Bonneville

HyperV6 03-01-2004 06:58 AM

If you give me $8999.00 for the emblems I will throw in the car for free. The emblems stay with the car.
