Default no start, no crank condition when attempting to start my 93

this problem started a few months ago. when I would try to start up, turning the key I would get all power to the lights, dash gauges, ect. but no crank or even a click. After 5 or 10 mins. it would fire right up. this car has been well maintained and ran perfect before last month when i went to my storage to pick up some tools for a friend, and upon leaving I turned the key to start up and .... nothing no crank or click just the normal chime of the system. the security light keeps flashing if that is of some importance.
I have replaced the battery, the ignition switch(the one on the coloumn that ties into the electrical system) and the netural safety switch on the trans axle because I was getting power to the pale yellow wire that goes into the neutral safety switch, but not out to the purple wire going to the starter sld. I had the key checked at the dealership it was fine. It has resistor pellet # 6. Its has been 6 weeks of good money after bad, headaches, bus stops, and walking in everywhere day and night. feedback with same problem and any remedy will be gratefully received.

If the security light is on, that means there is a VATS issue, that the VATS reciever is not getting the correct resistance from your key. Try cleaning your key with a Q-Tip and alcohol. And insert the key into the ignition a few times, and clean it again. This will also clean the lock cylinder too. Also try wiggling the key in the lock cylinder BEFORE turning the ignition on.

Thanks. We're going to check the fuse block and the wires at the ignition as well. I borrowed a scanner that is supposed to show if the security is working and if the crank sensor is working.

I tend to agree with opensourceguy. My test for this issue is:

1. Shut everything off
2. Remove key
3. Moisturize both sides of the resistor (if it'* mine then probably with my tongue)
4. Start car

It works much of the time, but is temporary.

Is this about the same car that was posted 13 years ago? If it'* not (don't see it listed in your profile) it would be best to start a new thread, as all vehicles in your profile use different systems than the original post.
