New to Pontiac

Well, I guess I'll make this short and sweet. I've never owned a Pontiac that I actually drove. I owned a Grand Prix (94) for about 5 hours but that was it. When I met my wife she owned (and still does) a 2001 Grand AM GT. Seeing how the car runs over the last year kind of won me over that Pontiac's are pretty good cars. So I decided to buy a 2002 Bonneville SLE. I've very much admired the way that they look for a long time. I remember back in high school I had a couple of friends that owned them, and I liked them then. Anyway......she's Charcoal colored inside, black outside with what I believe to be every option on this model except premium (if you even call it that) bose sounds. I've owned her for all of 4 days and must say I'm impressed so far. I also keep an 84 Toronado, 99 SHO, 01 Grand Am GT (wifes), and a 96 Caddy STS. Below are a few pics of the Toro, SHO, and Bonneville. I look forward to learning as much as I can about my new(ish) car and look forward to the "club"

well just a heads up since you're new to the game. check out the articles concerning the UIM issues on the L36. You're gonna need to take advantage of that information being that you're quite close to 100k.

Welcome to the club!

Welcome from Grand Blanc!!

welcome. Great looking cars and a beautiful big puppy you have there.

As for the UIM/LIM articles, you should read them over and be aware of them. It will save you a lot of hassle later on. You can also replace them as a preventative measure if you want, but that is your choice.

Also, there are a lot of members in Michigan. They are a great resource and don't be afraid to ask for help if you need.

Look forward to helping you learn about the car and glad you have joined our community.

Welcome to BC! :D

You should like the SLE, plus it just plain looks nice.

It looks like you take great care of that SHO, from the pics anyway.

And finally, that's a handsome puppy you have there.

Enjoy our little community.

Thanx to everyone for the warm welcome. After the couple intake warnings I started doing some reading as suggested and all I can say is, "man am I glad I purchased the extended warranty!" I'm actually protected through about 134,000 miles. I called the company to confirm coverage on the related issues spoke of and it appears that I am absolutely covered if anything occurs.

Even if you decided to do the job yourself, it's not that bad. I've done it 4 times. If you're no stranger to turning wrenches, you could have it done in about 4 - 5 hours. A majority of the time is spent cleaning everything.
