Hello,

Just a short introduction. I'm an Australian guy living in London, England. Bought a Oldsmobile Custom Cruiser on E-bay back in 2007 and have made many road trips throughout the U.*. putting on some 20,000 miles.

Like meeting other Oldsmobile owners, especially Custom Cruiser drivers and searching for parts.

Look forward to chatting.

Cheers.

Welcome to the Forum Fenn!
I like the olds..one of the longest lasting rides I ever owned, was an 81 cutlass LS 4 door.
I had that ride done to the 9'*...owned it for 20+ years.
How much is petrol over there now?

Default Hello

Hello Art, Soft Ride,

Unleaded petrol/gas costs on average £1.2952 per litre.

The highest reported price on the website below was £ 1.459 per litre.

Super Unleaded or Diesel will be higher.

Check out ... Free UK fuel prices. Over 8,000 petrol stations covered - PetrolPrices.com

A U.*. gallon, different from a U.K gallon = 3.7854 litres.

Therefore, a gallon of regular gas here will cost you at least $ 8.0467

I hope that helps?

I always love coming over to do road trips in the U.*. your gas is soooooo cheap! But people tend not to believe me when I tell them.

Cheers,

Fenn thanks for the reply.
I am in Canada, West Coast, and our fuel is at about $1.43 per litre here. $5.50 per us gallon I guess..
We just had some guests here from England, and it was nice to see them again. Have not seen the pounds lately until they showed up. As currency value goes up, so does bill size LOL. Have you seen our new polymer currency?

Hi,

I guess by 'polymer currency' you mean plastic notes instead of paper?

Australia has much the same thing. You can even put it through the clothes washing machine, no problem, or have I got the wrong end of the stick?

England still has paper....

I guess that'* the way to go.

The U.*. currency in my humble opinion should produce bank notes in different sizes and colours. Small denominations smaller etc. Much easier to see what you have and I'm sure people with limited eye sight would appreciate it.

Of course in 20 years we will all be using our mobile phones with a bank app and little notes or coins will be in circulation... o.k. well may be 40 years?
