Just bought an '02 SSEi, literally!!
Hey fellas, I just got back from the dealership where I picked up a white '02 SSEi with tan leather. I think I'm really going to like this car, I traded in my old daily driver '95 Cutlass Supreme, but this car should put it to shame in all categories. I come from a background in LT1 and LS1 cars, but after getting married I realized that being practical is more important than owning a fast car. So, hopefully the supercharged bonnie will give me a little of both worlds, performance and practicality. I drive nearly 90 miles round trip to work and back daily, so gas mileage was a must. The car has 55,000 miles on it now and still looks brand new, inside and out.
Just to give a brief background about myself, I'm 27 yrs old, live in Huntington WV (that'* right, West Virginia), and I'm a newly wed with no children.........yet. This seems like a pretty cool board and look forward to asking plenty of questions, I've been lurking for a couple of weeks now and have learned quite a bit about these cars in just that small amount of time. So, thanks for having me!!
Joe.

welcome to the family.
Your commute for work sounds like mine, I think you'll be happy with your gas mileage. I don't know about the SSEi but my SE is pretty good on gas for a fullsize car.

NICE!!!! Welcome -you will find more than abundant mods to keep up with a stock LT1 here. If mods are anything you are looking for there is a number of vendors, mainly the big ones are active here, world of FWD 3800'*.
Here are a couple:
www.intense-racing.com
www.zzperformance.com
www.pfyc.com
There are more, but these are what I can think of at the moment.
Again, Welcome, and make sure to give us some pics.

Thanks fellas, I'll be sure to post up some pics asap. Mods are definately on the list, probably just a cold air intake and a pulley. First things first though, I'm going to tint the windows 20%. Should work wonders for appearance. Thanks again.

Welcome to the club Joe. Reading your intro was like deja vu for me. I had a 1994 Cutlass Supreme that got replaced with a 2000 SSEi. Back in my younger days I had both a z28 and a TA, and if push came to shove I'd say I like driving the Bonneville better. You're going to love your new ride, and get some pics up already!

Well, since you guys love pics so much, they arent of the new bonnie, but heres a few of some of my old rides.
This was my '91 Trans Am, I had way too much money in this car and basically gave it away when it came time to sell.
This was a '95 TA I had, with bolt-ons and a 150 shot of nitrous it went 11.9 @112mph in the 1/4 mile.
This was my last ride (other than my Cutty), a '99 LS1 Z28, it was bone stock and still went 8.82 @82mph in the 1/8 mile, with nearly 100K on the clock!
And this is my current "toy" a 2002 Kawasaki 1500 Mean Streak, this thing is sooo much fun!
For plenty more pics, see the link in the sig. Hope you like!

it does not take much to get into the performance range of the Fbodies. a few things like a pulley and some headers would do wonders on your car.
either way welcome, great bunch of people on the forums here.
