Bonneville Sandrail
I'm new to this site. I recently purchased a sandrail with a Series one engine. I believe the engine is from a 1994 Bonne. This is what I know so far:
Smaller pulley, but I'm nor sure how to measure it. The outer lip of the pulley is 2.75", I didn't measure the inside.
10 lbs of boost under load.
180 thermostat - drilled
Headers
K&N
LINX computer
Fuel pressure regulator set at 45 lbs
Ordered new Aluminum valve covers from RD Performance today
Eliminated the valve cover breathers since photo - at the recommendation of Seriesoneperformance
NGK TR55IX plugs but ordered TR7IX - thought colder head range would be better under boost
5/16" rocker studs with roller fulcrums
Interested in 1.8 rockers from ZZP, but not sure if my LINX computer will recognize. Also interested in intercooler for my M62, but cant find one. Where can I improve this motor without changing cams? Throttle body spacer or new Throttle body? IF this blows, I think I'd switch to a Series 2 or 3. Basically, I want more power.

Dress up and ugly motor
Any ideas to dress up the engine bay? I've ordered polished Aluminum valve covers.
Does anyone made Aluminum pulleys?
I think in the off-season I will start chroming the brackets - if the motor holds!

I would imagine that the SCed motor in the lightweight sandrail would be pretty impressive, but like many here, there is no such thing as "too much power".
Looks like a great set-up and the motor does look wonderful in there.
As far as performance goodies go, I don't believe that anyone makes an intercooler for the Series I motor. It would be a custom job.
I think that is the factory stock pulley size for a Series I, and if so, a smaller pulley will do wonders. I am sure the SI guys will be here shortly to tell you all about the "go fast" stuff you can do.

The Headers were custom made and jet-coated last year. I don't think they would work in a FWD application. I'll take more photos this weekend and post.

The smaller SC pullies are available in colors, but I'm not currently aware of any specific aftermarket aluminum pulleys to replace/dress the rest of them. Maybe someone else here does.

well Since your in AZ ,and Echo didnt notice (you'll have to excuse him) im sure to other local guys would be interested in seeing the rail, or just to come and hang out when they are wrenching on the Bonnes...

)Anyways, rather than seeming pushy and asking "When can I see it?", I figured it is only a matter of time before I see it in person :P Already have been using the PM function with him since this morning
