newbie shopping
hey everybody...just joined the board and was looking for some good pointers and info on these hot looking sedans...I am presently the proud owner of a 2001 Grand Prix GT coupe...The GP is killer sweet but its the first 2dr I've owned in quite a few years and while I really do love the car I must admit to missing the convience of a 4dr on occasion...plus i've also noticed that the seat is not so comfy for those long hi-way hauls...we do plenty of traveling with relative scattered over half the country and 6-8hr trips are commonplace...I'm 6'3" and not a little guy but i still like my comfort...The GP is also the first non-Chrysler I've bought in some time. I had two Intrepids before getting the GP with the 1st Trep showing 178k on the clock before I passed it on to my son (and still goin strong)...with me and my bride empty nesting I really didnt feel I needed the sedan anymore (mid life crisis I guess)...I have to admit I've been really taken with the styling of the 2000-up models since their debut...I told my wife the 1st time I saw one at the NY auto show, "This is what a Trans Am looks like when it grows up!"...does any aftermarket supplier offer a ram-air hood for the Bonne?...any info you could pass on would be much appreciated...I may consider trading my GP for a Bonne if I could cut a deal...then with a few mods the "BatLimo" would be born!...(yes, I am a Batman nut...NOT that lame azz TV show either!...MIcheal Keaton came close on his first outing and then the wheels came off the wagon..."Mask of the Phantasm" is the best Dark Knight film to date...animated or no...I eagerly await summer 2005 to see if Christian Bale finally plays the equal opportunity butt kicker I've been reading in comics all these years!)

BatLimo
Being a big guy myself, the Bonneville is very comfortable. Where in VA do you Live? I live in Maryland 18 miles from DC.
Another Mid-Atlantic member, our ranks are growing!!!

I'm right outside the city of Colonial Heights in Chesterfield county about 30 miles south of Richmond...I got the chance to sit ina Bonne at the 2001 NY auto show (my wife has relatives in Connecticut that we travel up to visit every Easter...which just so happens to be the same week the auto show is in Manhattan at the Javits Center...and since my wife is a born and bred New Yorker, we stop off in the City on the way home and spend the day, so I have access to the auto show most every year)...but as happens at the show most times, the batteries are disconnected so I couldnt move the power seat...but even still I liked what I saw (all but the sticker!) If I can find a used one for about the same as I gave for my GP ($11k w/50k miles) I would be very tempted to go for it. I sure would love to be stylin like the car in my sig ( welcome to my PaintShop fantasy world!)

Passing right by you on my way to NC next Friday. There are some good deals on 2004 Bonnevilles right now. I picked up my new SLE last April for $27,500 including taxes. The only option I do not have is the 12 CD changer. The XM Radio is really nice!

I'd really like to find a black SSEi...gray interior w/sunroof...that would be ideal...I could probably live without the sunroof (but I like the one in my GP so much)...it really is a shame, my GP is the nicest car I've ever owned...it looks great, has plenty of power, exhaust sounds awesome since I modded it and it has the most kick-butt sound system of any stock car I ever heard...if the bloody driver seat didnt get so hard after an hour or so (I'm prolly just too wide for it)...here'* a sig pic I use over at grandprix.net...

Welcome to the club. A Black Y2K+ SSEi rollin on black 18" rims = the scariest thing this side of Gothem City. It would be damn sweet I gotta say.
Also, am I correct understanding by your sig here that the SSEi is a 1/18 model? If so where did you get it? I'd love to get my hands on one -especially a 1992-1999 version.

Oh I wish it was a diecast model cuz it would look sweet in my display case!...I'm afraind that the SSEi in my sig isa product of my PaintShopPro7 program (I do enjoy chopping carpics) the text that says 'my other car is the Batmobile" refers to my 1/18 diecast model of the "Keaton car" or the Batmobile from the first motion picture...the pic above that in my last post is my 2001 GrandPrix GT (my present ride) of which the car itself has not been altered...I set up my camera on a tripod over at SamsClub parking lot at about 11pm under the lights and got some long exposure shots...then I added the text, logo and the image of "my hero" in PaintShop....I would really like to be able to get myself a black SSEi and make it look like the sig pic tho!
