Howdy! My name is Keith and I'm a forced-air-aholic. Just got a '92 Bonneville SSEi, have owned an '87 Buick Turbo Regal for over 10 years. Gotta love boost. The Bonneville doesn't run, unfortunately, but we'll get it there. Electronics of some sort are the culprit. I'll take that to the tech forum. Anyway, I've been a Pontiac guy in the past and had good luck with them. I've had a 1962 Pontiac Gran Prix--sold in 1972 because it didn't get good enough gas mileage (if you can imagine... gas was 25 cents a gallon), a 1953 Pontiac Sport Coupe, 8cyl, auto, leather seats--sold in England, and a 1979 Pontiac Catalina wagon that we put over 200,000 miles on. I was a member of POCI for a number of years back in the 70s and 80s. Anyway, I'm looking forward to getting this beast running and increasing boost. Tricks I use on my Turbo Buick should help here too! Like alcohol injection, adjustable fuel pressure regulator... .
Anyway, glad to be here.

Welcome!!

You're gonna fit in well around here. Start reading the topics and Performance and Brainstorming. A couple members have already tried the alcohol injection.

Welcome to BC. We are a very friendly group and seems like you have some great knowledge and ideas. We have had at least one member run an alcohol injection set-up (2000SilverBullet).

Welcome to BC!

Good to have another Pontiac fan arrive! It sounds like we all may be able to exchange some information. That'* what makes this forum work.

Wow, hasn't been long and "welcomes" already. Thanks.
re: alcohol injection--I have a homemade setup on my TR; have had for years. Works great. It'* a pressurized tank in the trunk (about 80psi) running through an air hose (plastic lined, takes up to 300psi) to a NOS solenoid which is controlled by an adjustable boost-activated Hobbs switch set at 8psi. The alcohol (cheap Wal Mart isopropyl) runs from the solenoid to a NOS nozzle/jet screwed into a nut welded on the up-pipe and sprays into the throttle body. Right now I'm using an .036 jet. The TE-44 turbo is pushing 20+ psi of boost on a 50/50 mix of 87 octane and E-85 (max of 42% ethanol because the E-85 is only 85%, and might be as low as 70%).... kinda wierd, but it works with no problems so far and zero knock. And the fuel combo is cheaper than 87 octane, at least around here. Upgraded fuel pump (Walbro 340) and bigger injectors (42.9 lb--the stock ones are 28) help too. Works for me. I don't have plans to run 12s in the Bonneville at this point, or to even race it, but I'd like to increase boost without knock. Mo' Power. Of course when I got the TR I thought I'd be happy with 13s... Now I'm knocking again--but it'* not pre-ignition ... knocking on the door of 11s....

Have you noticed the strangely similar staggered exhaust port spacing on your exhaust manifold runners between the two cars yet?
