"YEA...It works...It'* ALIVE....IT'* ALIVE " Thanks to Dr Frankinstein for the quote and to DANTHURS and VENOM GXP and all the others who have contributed to this forum: Tech: Mechanical: My wife'* 3800 Series II is up and running, It'* Alive once again. I will reluctantly admit that I don't own a Bonneville ( although, I do have Bonneville Envy) This is NOT your fathers Oldsmobile...I know it'* my father-in- law'* or was. My wife purchased her Dad'* 1995 Oldsmobile Delta 88 from his Estate (because he forgot to write it down in his will that she got his car upon his death) Two days after transferring the title ( The DMV stopped just short of having us exhume his body and bring him in just to sign the title), getting insurance and new plates she was two miles from home going down an entrance ramp onto the express-way the engine just stopped..dead..she coasted to a stop on the shoulder and called me. "It'* dead, the car just died" crying like women do in times of stress and sorrow. Someone'* rubbing salt in our wounds..OUCH! I did not know it at the time, but soon learned from this website, that it was hydro-locked. I winched it onto our tow-dolly and brought it back to our driveway...Oh,yeah I took the wife to work first, then went back and got the car. Anyway, after searching the internet for "3800 series II " repair information the BF was at the top of the list. I soon exhausted my limits of "free viewing" on this Website I did ( had to ) sign-up as a member so i could get back to the last couple pages or so of DANTHURS How-to Sticky on replacing the UIM/LIM gaskets on the 3800 series II engines. I have now completed the dis-assembly and reassembly of the Upper and Lower intakes, replaced the defective gaskets with the highly recommended Aluminum gaskets from GM and it WORKS!!! I am a New Member and very thank-full to those people who have taken the time and effort to share their knowledge, experience and wisdom with those of us who need the help, assistance and advice of how to do it and do it correctly because they've done it before. I have attached my FathersDay award I hope you can read it. I am a Do It Yourself (DIY) type of person because I can do it, with limited mechanical ability, the main driving force is lack of funds. Although, I wouldn't mind being financially able to drop the car'* off at the Stealership, having their Valet Service drive me to work and tell them " Fix the car, bring it back to me when it'* done and send the bill to my people." or even better yet: "This one doesn't work...bring me a new one" HA-Ha. Since the government took over GM some of the Dealership(*) have closed and I don't have a job ( no, I did not work in the automotive field. I did HVAC systems design/estimating ) or the income to even THINK about paying the dealer'* flat rate for automotive repairs. SO, I have become " DAD the fixer of the broken things" I've got my wife'* Delta 88 up and running, thanks again to BF. Next inline in the drive way is my older son'* 1998 Saturn SL2 with Loose Input and Output shaft nuts Transaxle repair with info from:( SaturnFans Forum ) after that there is my young son'* little hot rod Sundance/Duster with a 3.0 that needs a timing belt and tensioner replaced how to provided by:(chrysler3literV6/Yahoo groups) so I am not a One Forum kind of guy. I can become an Internet-Expert with the ability to point and click my mouse at any problem and find a economical solution, as long as you don't need it done by 5pm today..I'm good and good work takes time. Thanks A Million!! to everyone at BF, I'm sure I'll be back these cars just don't stay fixed forever. My parts getter/haul it all is a '96 F**D Ranger ( RangerStation) , my ReneGoFast cars are a '77 Arrest Me Red Vette, and my tire burner is a '94 LT1 Caprice 9c1 which is like a 4-door Corvette and cheap to insure....don't tell that damn Gecko anything about that LT-1.

Welcome to the BonnevilleForum. Glad to hear you brought her back from the depths of hydrolock hell. GrandRapids Eh? My wifes folks live just up from you. I'm hoping to arrange an afternoon around July4 to meet up with some other members in that area.
