Default Only 17, and a "Bonnephile"!

I'm 17, the only female car person I know (admittedly I don't know lots about cars but I'm learning!) ..and I am totally in love with Bonnevilles. Totally and completely in love! There'* 'cooler' cars out there but who needs 'cool' when you can drive a Bonnie? I'm an artist. I have an eye for this sort of thing. The Bonneville rules.

I'm working, selling art, and saving up odds n' ends to buy that first ride. And of course, it will be a Bonneville. I've got my eyes on a '95 or higher SE. I've been told the supercharged SSEi'* have problems with their bearings so I'm going to avoid those for now.

My license plate will say "B-VILLE".

I love this forum and the concept behind it. I just thought I'd introduce myself and become a member. I don't know how much I'll be able to contribute, but like I said, I AM an artist and would be willing to do free link banners or graphics for you.

I need help...!

Welcome to the Bonneville Club, and I'm thrilled you found us. Good luck with the car. I'm gonna move this thread to Intro so that people can say hello.

Have Fun

I think the bearings on an SSEi are going to be less of a worry then the Series II upper intake probs NorthWolf, take a look at the 92-99 section and read the sticky at the top of that forum. We can help you out tho.

Good luck with the decision either way

Default Thanks!!

Thanks fer posting. I heard about the SSEi'* bearings from a friend'* dad, who collects cars (an expensive hobby I wish I could get into. I'd have a garageful of silver and black Bonnies if I had money, but I'm a starvin' artist) I'd mostly be using my car to commute back and forth from town (I live in the boonies, way out in wheat country.

And it'* more of a matter of what I can afford as well. I would LOVE to own a new SSEi but I have parents who insist on making me do all of this for myself. They might help me out with the initial purchase but after that I'm on my own

Plus the fact that I don't think I'd ever be using the power. But still, congrats to all the SSEi owners out there. You have no idea how I envy you!

Right now my ideal car is a 96 or 97 black or silver SE. It'* within my price range. Preferably with a CD player but I can make do without.

Once I did get my car, do you think it would depreciate the value much if I were to airbrush something on the hood? (I was thinking a stylized white wolf head surrounded by blue flames) This is probably a stupid question...

That would be really custom for sure...I never thought of a Bonneville hood as a canvas, but meh....might be neat.

My whole car'* going to be a canvas...I'm gonna have those magnetic flame things along the sides, the magnetic "bullet holes", about a trillion attitudinal bumper stickers, and a big airbrush on the hood. I dunno why, but I must have a burning desire to attract attention to myself. :"D

I think it'* because there are too many super-conservative bible-thumping types living up here, and I want to offend some of them.

Oh well. It'll be fun to drive around in. :"D

Beats the Dinosaur turds on the dash.
I think this young artist has some potential with our club. Maybe she could design a new club decal.

Default Official merchandise?

..and I would too!!

And that got me thinking:
It seems all this site is missing is official merchandise for die-hard Bonnephiles. I sell a few items privately using http://www.cafepress.com. I would be thrilled to make a public store with an endless supply of official Bonneville Club merchandise as long as I got to keep the 'commission' from cafepress (about 1.50$ per item). It would go in the big dorky jar known as 'the old-*** Bonneville fund'. The owners of this site need not pay me anything, because what little profit I would get would be from commission based on how many items were sold. I do this for fun! I have no life!

Some of the items that are available are car things like bumper stickers, license plate frames, travel mugs...as well as baseball caps, mugs, hoodies, t-shirts, and other high-quality wearables.

The reason I like cafepress is that all I have to do is create and upload the images. They take care of the shipping and the payment. I think it would be a cool idea for this site, and I'd do it for free, too!

Mods/Admins: Let me know if you'd like me to make some stuff for you. I'd be more than happy to. And I wouldn't be insulted if you didn't like the idea, either.

Sorry to get off topic, but I didn't know where else to put this.

NorthWolf
