Default love my new 2001 Bonneville SSEI

Hi everyone, what a great forum to have!
I just picked up my Bonneville 2001 on Friday April 4th and it is gorgeous!

I am so happy with it.
Of all the features on this car, there is only one thing that does not work, the driver'* seat heater switch. While I am going to do a search for this issue, I might as well go ahead and post what it is doing.

When I turn it on, the light comes on for about a half second and immediately goes out.
I do hear a relay under the seat ciick once when I try to turn it on.

The passenger seat heater works great.
I checked the fuse (number 16) on the fuse box under the hood and it is good, I even switched it with another 10 amp just to be sure and still no go.

Anyway, hopefully I will find the answer to this question.

I have a feeling I am going to enjoy this forum, thank you to the forum administrators for setting it up and providing the service.
Thank you everyone!
Dan

Welcome to the club. Just recently bought my 2000 SSEi. I don't have the heated seats, but from what I hear they can have their problems. If you list this in the right area the people who have dealt with them will be able to help. You can also do a search, I know they have been mentioned here before.

Once again, welcome to the club.

Hi and welcome to the Club.

Your seat heater element is more than likely shot (bottom portion).
You can replace it or repair it but can be a real pita.

Search for seat heaters or make a new post in the 2000 forum.

Thanks everyone!
Red Rocket, I am in St. Louis Missouri, THANKS

I discovered the two factory 6x9 subs in the back and the woofer in the front passenger door are out of phase.
I am a recording engineer and immediately heard crappy phase. It figures, dumb Bose probably told GM to reverse the phase of one of the front woofers so that the stereo image would sound bigger. :(

Absolutley a wonderful car though!
