Bonnevilles in the family.

Bonnevilles in the family.
My Father bought Bonneville cars while I was growing up so I guess it'* no surprise that they are in my "blood". He bought one in 1966 or 1967, I'm not sure of the date. Anyway, I do remember how big the car was. In fact the trunk could hold me and a
whole bunch of friends. I remember how it caused a stir at the dealership because
they had never sold one for that price. I think he said it was $ 5,000.00. Which was a
bunch then.
I have enjoyed my 1996 SSEi. The Supercharger is fantastic. When I ordered my GXP,
I was disappointed because it didn't come with a supercharger option. Having both cars,
I can tell you it doesn't need one. The '96 is quicker off the line, but within a very short
distance the GXP starts to kick in and the RPMs wrap high before if finally shifts. The
sound is AWESOME. It'* like someone went to the track and made a recording of the
cars as they go thru th 1/4 mile, and then installed it in the GXP. I have a Merc 6.9 and
it'* acceleration after it gets up to 70 mph is amazing. But I can tell you there is a whole
lot left in the GXP at 70 mph also.
Have a Nice Day Dave
