John... the northstars that i have seen do not show signs of trouble running DEX (i have had several caddys personally and there have also been several in the family for the past 6 or 7 years) and you shouldn't advise people who my still be covered by factory warranty to do this.. Since all the problems with the 3.8,3.4 GM has reformulated DEX.... I spoke with a cadillac rep about thins just the other day.

If your car is out of warranty go ahead and change it, I'm not on the hurry up and change it bandwagon since the LD8 has the metal gaskets...

its under warranty until may 26 but what will changing the coolant do for the engine?

it wont real do anything for the car...

the Dexcool is a known cause of the deterioration of the Plastic compsit gaskets in many GM motors, and thus the coolest getting into the oiland killing the motor. BUT from what Rob said, it shouldnt matter to you if your gaskets are metal ;)

Another Ohio member!

I'm from Sidney myself, but I'm currently in Toledo for school.

Welcome, GXP's are great, especially low mileage ones.

I've been to Ohio a few times. The best part of it is Cedar Point, but I haven't heard from too many Ohio residents about that. Which do you prefer: Cedar Point or Kings' Island?

Bonneville92V688 04-13-2007 12:32 AM

I am 30 mins from Cedar Point, so I pick CP obviously. Lol.

Welcome!

Yeah, and the rides are phenomenal. It's far greater than that island place.
