You will need to check your drive pulley on the balancer, dies it have 2 rows of groves? If not, you need that. You need the idlers, and the tensioner. You will also need the PCM tunned to work with the SC. That'* just for starters.

Yea well no way i am doing all that. It seems my plenum was melted up inside that "chimney" off the top of the intake. We think, since that area is surrounded by coolant, this might be the issue. (If it is that sucks pretty bad for all we did). So tomorrow we hunt for a new plenum. Seems it'* a common problem also. I'm surprised it never came up in here.

Yes, the pipe did, but not the fact that the interior of the plenum could be melted out. I wish i knew enough to check things like that for myself. You couldn't see it, It looked fine. Then I stuck my finger in there and it was rubbing out in balls of goo.

Yea man, I guess so. Would be nice to have a little more mechanical knowledge, but sadly, I'm just some guy that bought a lemon, and then made it worse.

I wouldn't jump on the whole "lemon" thinking. This could have happened to any car you would have bought given the same circumstances: You doing a motor job with little to no experience in the specific area needing fixed.

Learn from this and grow in your knowledge of cars.

You picked a very very good car and one that with regular maintenance will last you a very vey long time.

Hats off to you for taking on this job!
I give you a for hanging in there and not giving in and bringing it in to a shop and paying them a ton of money
and give you for competing the job well done!

Todd
