Hello to all and thanks for all of the GREAT info on!
I'm Rob and from Jefferson City Missouri. My wife drives a 97 SE with 159k on it. This is our 5th "Bonnie". She wrecked one and blew one up. The others were just sold to buy a better one. I'm 40 and married with 2 kidos. I drive the as my wife says..."junky" Chevy Malibu. She hates it because it is to small compared to the Bonneville.

Oh yeah she loves her bonnies
Between us we have had a 89SE, 90LE, 93SSEi, 95SE, and now the 97. She totaled the 89 and blew up the 93
Now if I can get her some heat in the 97 will be happy again....well, probably not but at least she will be warm. PS she's driving the Malibu and not very happy about it. LOL |
LMAO...
No heat... Makes me thing there is an issue with the Temp control Actuator... I love my Bonneville... Did a lot of Mixed driving recently and pulled down a 26 mpg.... Not bad for Mixed... Hard not to like them ;) __________________ Best Car Insurance | Auto Protection Today | FREE Trade-In Quote |
Welcome from another from Missouri!

Hello!
HI 93Bonnie,
Hey what is a Rice Pipe and a Gutted Airbox? ...maybe I should be askin this somewhere else probalby but I'm seeing that everywhere and I don't know what it means. I assume your modifying your intake with something?? |
A rice pipe is pretty much a Auto Zone DIY intake. A gutted air box is you cutting parts of the air box to allow more air into your engine.
|
Ok thanks. I was looking and found a post on how to gut the airbox. I might do that. I don't know about the pipe..it's my wife car and she don't like me "messing" with it!
|
if she doesn't want you messing with it, don't mess. :D
the Rice Pipe is just a way to allow colder air into the engine, giving it slightly more power. Installing this mod will make for a louder intake, which most women would not prefer ;) |
Yea I had the same problem with the wife's Hyundai. She don't like me messing with it either. So during a tune-up I modified it a little bit. Let's just say it's a bit louder. LOL.
