Just found your club a few days ago. I own a 1967 and a 1969 Pontiac Bonneville Ambulances manufactured by Superior Coach.

Both ambulance chassis were built at the Pontiac plant in Pontiac Michigan and were converted as ambulances at Superior’s plant in Kosciusko, Mississippi.

The 67 was purchased by Atomic Energy of Canada Ltd, Chalk River Plant in March of 67 and stayed in service there for almost 20 years. The 69 was originally purchased by the town of Rivers in Manitoba before making its way for the St. Stephen Ambulance Service where it was retired in the late 80s.

Looking forward to learn more about tips and tricks on the restoration on both Bonneville.

I actually worked off a 69 Pontiac Ambulance back in 1977. We had it as an emergency/emergency spare for our aid units in the fire department I worked for. We lovingly refereed to her as the "Gomermobile". The patient compartment was woefully cramped and we could barely carry out patient care during transports. The mechanical siren did not have a brake and we would wind it up so fast, that there were times the siren was still wailing after on scene patient care and the start of transport. I have some horror stories that I can share about a motorcycle accident victim and what we hat to do with one of his legs to get him into the ambulance, but I will spare all the gory details.
