Looking to get more involved in this site? Well, here'* how it works.

Becoming a paid member really helps. It shows us that your interested in this site and wish to help keep it going. and you have made in investment in doing that.

Becoming active. We do notice this stuff. Getting involved in the conversations is a great first step. Get to know other members and staff. When your very active we do notice that, and you may be asked to become a site recruiter. This just means you say hi to new members, start conversations and keep them going. This is a great way to get your foot in the door and work your self up.

Show your mechanical skills. If your good with cars, detailing, engines, etc. Share that. Do a write up, answer questions, etc. Yes, we notice that as well. And this will earn you the gearhead badge. Another great way to get your foot in the door.

Recruiters and gearheads that show exceptional skills and participation in the site have a great chance to move up to moderator. These are the only two areas we will draw new moderators from. You don't need high mechanical skills to be a moderator, but it does help.

Super Moderator. This is a special badge only given to the best of the best and falls just short of the Administrator badge.

Administrators. Only Moderators are considered for this title. You must have exceptional skills to even be considered for this title. These skills include but are not limited to mechanical, computer, security, internet, and most important of all, trust.

Senior administrator. Only a administrator will be considered for this spot. First, the current out going senior admin and the site owner agree on the new person. You do not ask for this spot, it'* offered only.

Any member of this site has a chance to get any staff spot here. I started off as a normal member. I worked hard, answered questions, did write ups, and helped all I could. I was offered a Gearhead badge. I worked even harder and was promoted to Moderator. Over time I was moved to Super Moderator, then finally Administrator. I earned the trust of the last senior admin and owner of the site. When GXPvenom decided to move on, he suggested me and I was promoted. I moved up on my own merits, and so can you. New members that work hard will move up. If your interested in becoming a recruiter or gearhead, just send me a PM.

Being a former moderator I can tell ya it was definitely a fun time. The members of this forum are great and treat ya well. Doesn't take a lot of your extra time but more than what I have anymore so onward and forward.

Wow. I didn't realize gearheads ranked so low in the organization.

Your value is worth more than you know. Members look up to Gearheads because they know they are the "select" few chosen by the forum based on your technical knowledge, professionalism and your dedication to the forum.

I don't look at badges being different levels. We are all the same. Badges are a mater of pride. Recognition for each persons experience, knowledge, participation, etc. The gearhead badge is one of the harder badges to get. I only hand them out to people that have proven to us they have the right answers.

Sounds like gearheads are the bottom of the ladder to me.

Wow. I simply did not realize that responding to technical issues and helping forum members fix their cars ranked below making sure new members are greeted properly, and threads are in the correct area of the forum.

Personally I think our gearheads are the backbone of the forum and play a very important role in keeping it alive. I don't know about anyone else but I joined here to get some help modifying my Bonneville and then decided to share the knowledge I gained with others. Everyone does there part and the forum could not continue without all of us. As far as I am aware, the only "Rank" system on this forum is the respect and reputation you earn with the other members based on your own knowledge.
