Default Not Your Father'* Car! Alabama

Bob & Jo Stevenson...Huntsville, Alabama...2003 Buick LeSabre Custom 47K Original Miles...Gold or Bronze or whatever GM calls it...We inherited the car.

http://buick.stevensondesigns.com

It was bought special for my wife'* mom however due to breast cancer, she never got the opportunity to drive it. The Dad drove it to the store and the cemetery then recently passed also. The son drove it to an early death by not having the corrosive antifreeze removed, therefore one of the seals failed and he drove it with underinflated tires and basically no oil for three months! The body and interior is perfect, never wrecked. It now has a junkyard engine in it because the son blew it up and put the engine in and then lied and gave it, as executor, to my wife. I am completely refurbishing the vehicle from bumper to bumper, top to bottom, inside and out. Includes at least a Jasper engine or a crate engine with I hope a supercharger so I can put a hood scoop on it. Then we are going to do some extreme customizations to it in hopes of producing a "show car" that we can drive to such places as Gatlinburg and Orange Beach. The theme, "This Ain't Y'ur Father'* Car!" in memory of my wife'* Mom. SO! That'* the plan but right now I need advice in restoring the critical areas from SALT DAMAGE!! So far the following FRONTEND parts are removed with new ones waiting: rotors, calipers, strut assemblies, bearing packs, wheel wells. I am now tackling the tie-rod ends. Rear end next. Any help or ideas or links or whatever is much, much appreciated. I have always wanted a car to just work on and get right by me, and I have not seen this style of vehicle "sooped up"...I DON'T MEAN "Hooded" or "Tricked" or "Pimped"...I mean more along the style of a muscle car with super luxury. OK...that'* the intro...I DO HOPE that the majority of folks here are helpful and professional but if you aren't and are reading this, PLEASE don't converse with me. Also I will be having some stock good parts to sell or trade or give away like a set of front strut assemblies (struts, springs, etc.) with 47,000 miles on them, 4 rotors (F & R) that have never been turned, 2 sets of pads with 12,000 miles on them, 4 bearing packs with 47K on them...IF you are hurting for those kind of parts for your car and you are short of funds...send me a message. Thanks..

BTW...Where is the best place to post mechanical and parts questions in regards to my model...I looked at the BUICK>LeSabre area but there is one post! I have a part I can not find that I was wanting help with. The sway bar frame bushing on my vehicle is an oddball for which I can not find a suitable rubber or poly replacement. VIN is 1G4HP52K83U136010. The bushing was manufactured in Canada for the Michigan plant and is 28mm. The mechanical breakdown the GM Parts places on line show do not exactly match mine.

You can post in general chat, that area covers more cars. Have you tried www.rockauto.com They have a great selection.

Rockauto is good but they don't even list the bushing. I find it hard to beleive this bushing has not been "after-market-ized" yet...or maybe there is another style with a bracket I put in place. The frame actually has a formed indention for this bushing to fit in. I will post, with pix, in your general discussion area. Thanks.

Many bushings are a dealer only item.
