belated introduction
I've been reading the forums now for about three weeks, so I thought I'd introduce myself and destroy the cloak-and-dagger intrigue surrounding my arrival My name'* Brian, and most of the work I'd done on cars prior to owning my '95 Bonneville SE was on an '84 Escort, so all these newfangled electronic gizmos tied into the engine kinda throw me for a loop -- but I'm starting to figure it all out thanks to the informative... er, information I'm gathering here.
I'm mostly a shade-tree mechanic, not a die-hard gearhead, so there'* not much I can offer there -- but I'm pretty good with electrical and electronic theory, so I'll do the best I can with theoretical-type questions.
Thanks for having me!

I'm learning along with you, Brian. Prior to this place, the only engines I'd put a lot of work into were from the 70'*. This place has taught me a lot!
